This apartment is in a brilliant location. It's a block from Union Station for easy arrival/departure and the subway to other parts of Washington, a 15 minute walk to the Capitol Building & Library of Congress.
The welcome pack emailed in advance provides guidance to get to the apartment and other helpful assistance. (It's essential to read this and take it with you for arrival as it provides you with most of the information you need for a successful visit, as does the booklet in the apartment.) The apartment is on the ground floor of a 3 level Victorian era town house, so you enter from the back through a short lane way. It's not the most picturesque entrance, to be frank, but it shows the character of the area. The apartment is well fitted out for between1-4 people, although more comfortable for 2 (or three if necessary) in reality. The bedroom is large, the bed is very comfortable, with good amenities in the bathroom and kitchen. The lounge area is narrow, owing to the configuration of the building, but adequate for a couple and the sofabed is comfortable. The booking process was swift, easy and I found Luxbnb to be responsive, helpful and understanding. If I had to provide any downsides I would say they are that the bedroom, having only a small window at street level is a little dark and the entrance at the rear (as previously mentioned). However these are minor and unless you intend to spend all your time in bed or in the lane/back area, these are minor issues. I found paying the extra amount of money to be so close to the capitol was worthwhile for the location, although it was a lot for me as a single traveller. The French restaurant, Bistrot Cacao in Massachusetts Ave (5 minutes walk), provides quirky turn of the century decor inside and reasonably good French food. All in all, this self catering apartment was ideal for me (and an older relative who visited for a couple of days). The service from Luxbnb was very good. BUT this is not a hotel and, like all holiday rentals, requires renters to be independent and self sufficient, as they are not available 24/7. (If this is the kind of service you expect, a hotel is more appropriate.) I would definitely recommend and return to this apartment as well as use the Luxbnb agency again. (Thankyou Kevin.)
