“Sweet spot on Capitol Hill”

Extremely close to the Metro and quite close to the Capitol / Court / Library of Congress end of the National Mall, so you would expect to make some compromises, but... no. Charming, clean, comfortable, and complete. The bedroom has great closet and shelf space for clothes, a good bed, fine AC, and one bedside lamp table. The window opens and it's very quiet, far from the street. The living room was very comfortable for three. The couch made an adequate bed for the extra adult. AC wasn't as effective in there. The bathroom was fine, with plenty of towel racks, which is rare. The kitchen has a good laundry, high quality appliances, and everything we needed to cook meals. A huge plus is the sheltered balcony with comfy seats.

“Perfect for two old people”

Not much to add to the other reviews. Location location location. There were more than 20 quality restaurants within a 10 minute stroll in a safe area. Very heavy police presence.
Kurt was kind to let us leave our bags after the checkout time.
Would do it again in a heartbeat.

“Perfect stay for a demanding family of three including a teenage girl!”

Great location and easy access for sightseeing, but privacy and relaxation just like being home after a long day. Very clean, nice decor, great big tub for soaking and nice little porch to sit outside and enjoy morning coffee or just relax. Neighbors are very friendly and the neighborhood felt safe. Police patrol constantly. High class area. VERY close to lots of great food and Eastern Market within walking distance. We parked our car right in front of the unit and never used it again until time to leave. Reservations, payment, free parking pass, all interaction with owner pleasant, efficient, and professional. If we go to DC again, we will definitely stay here. We would even change the dates of our trip if necessary to stay here.

Liked best: It was our own little oasis after a day in the city.
Liked least: The stairs are steep but also part of the charm. It only matters if you are disabled, otherwise it's fine. Just a lot of walking in DC.

“Fabulous Apartment with a great location”

The apartment is fabulous, more than we could have asked for! Great location, just steps to the Eastern Market metro stop, Eastern Market (fabulous food at the Market Lunch counter) and the restaurants on 8th. Kirk was friendly and knowledgeable and set us immediately at ease. The apartment is beautifully appointed with a full kitchen (where we cooked a farmer's market dinner one night) and lots of space to spread out in the living room after a long day of sightseeing. After having walked past the locations of the usual Mariott, etc towards downtown, I know it was a far better decision to rent the apartment in an interesting neighbourhood. Two thumbs up!
