I visited this hotel this past weekend. I chose this hotel thru a priceline secret deal. The location is right next to the metro train station. The location is great if you use the metro system. The major issue is parking. The charge for parking was $42 a day for valet service with in and out service. I stayed in room 402 which is at the end of the hall. The room had a refrigerator, but no microwave. I thought it was a perfect location. Floor was very quiet. The service at the front desk was very good and helpful. There are a few food places (Five Guys, Italian sandwich place, McDonalds and few other lounges) within walking distance. Overall, I believe it was a very good value for the price I paid.

Room tip: Room 402 is at the end of the hall (very quiet)

Great sized room, but for it being on a none smoking floor, it smelled like smoke. We didn't complain or change the room because it wasn't that strong, and we weren't staying in the room long. We did the early check in via the app and our room was waiting for us at 1pm! perfect, easy, great service. House keep opens the door if you do not respond (or they don't hear you) after about 10 seconds. Luckily we had the top lock on (we forgot to place the do not disturb sign..our fault).
Theres a 7/11, au bon pain (spelling?) next door and a deli and pita place right across. A lot more restaurants and a grocery store about a 7 min walk. The metro stop is literally next door (2 minute walk max) and Uber arrives very quickly here ...but parking sucks, so you would have to Valet your car for $42. It feels more "business" than anything else, but we had a good nights rest.

Stayed at this Courtyard location for one night for business at the CFPB the next day (which was conveniently located right around the block.) Staff was nice and welcoming, Valet William has an awesome attitude and stored my bag for me. Not much to see after dark in the near vicinity.

Stayed here for about a week and a half whilst on a business trip to Washington. Very friendly and helpful staff from the reception to the bistro through to the valet guys downstairs who were very efficient at getting taxis and any other information you might need.
Rooms clean and very very comfortable beds. I did have two different rooms, the first one on the 4th floor was a little dark with a small window, the second one where I spent the bulk of the time on the 8th floor was a higher quality of renovation and large windows.

Breakfast was good, bistro meals also good and they will deliver them to your room in a take away bag. Bistro closes between 10am and 5pm and again by 10pm including the Starbucks inside, however with so many cafes and corner stores literally steps away this is not really an issue.

Hotel is right next to the metro station which is one stop from union station. Taxi ride down to the Capitol was about $10.

The neighbourhood looks like it probably was a bit sketchy at one time, but a lot of urban renewal seems to have taken place changing it for the better. Hotel was a bit pricey for what you get, the Courtyard brand seems to be a bit of a step down from the Marriott people might be used to outside of the US, air con was also a bit noisy and difficult to get the temperature right. However location, surroundings and super friendly staff more than make up for it.

Room tip: Ask for the 8th floor if you can

The people here were so nice, they let us check in early and check out late without charging us. They were very pleasant when it came to questions. We ate a couple of times at their restaurant, The Bistro, and the staff there was very nice.

There isn't much around this area, but it's close (not walking distance though) to Union Station. There is a Metro station right outside the door of the hotel that we used constantly. A couple of our tours took off from Union Station and it was convenient to use the Metro to get there.

The room was very clean and although our view was one of the tracks, we didn't spend that much time in the room. Everything was to our liking.
