We selected the George hotel for our visit to Washington on the basis of its proximity to Union station and the reviews we read on TripAdvisor.
What a lovely place. We were made welcome from the start, all staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was on the seventh floor, so street noise was not a problem. The bed was extremely comfortable, with quality linen, and the bathrobes decadent.
Bathroom was spacious and immaculately clean.
The 'wine o'clock' session in the front lounge is a must-do, if it gets a little crowded there is a second lounge area down the corridor between the elevators.
We ate at Bistro Bis, and can heartily recommend it.
This was our first stay at a Kimpton hotel, it won't be our last, and we would certainly return to the George if our travels bring us back to Washington.
