Allow plenty of time to look around and be ready for crowds. All Smithsonian's are free so you only have to figure out parking. My favorite exhibit was the mineral and gems area. They even have the Hope Diamond. Several beautiful pieces of jewelry there as well. Lots of cool rocks and minerals.

Tons and tons of things to see, but nothing inspiring or “must see” although the origins of man exhibit was interesting and held our attention. The things kept in a jar throughout the museum were really difficult to get a good grasp on what they actually were. Giant squid was most interesting.

It was such a wonderful site, watching children learning and enjoying science and natural history. Lots of exhibits, very crowded at the time of our visit, but it was encouraging to see that many people, especially children, having fun with science!!! Hope for the future!!

Better than the one in NYC. Especially loved the mammals exhibit and the human exhibit. Great information and presentation. Absolutely amazing.

Smithsonian museums are priceless. This places are so rich in information that you never imagine that stuff they have there are part of the human history. For kids this an experience, I would recommend taking kids here at least once in their lives.
