Owner description: Emotionally stirring memorial pays tribute to the men and women who served in one of America's most controversial wars.

Loved seeing this again. The most amazing thing about the day was the kids seeing all those names and realizing each one died. It was freezing cold out and yet the granite surface was warm to the touch. Best part of the design.

I have never been to a Memorial with power like the Vietnam Memorial, doesn't seem like much but it just does something to you. it's a must if you are visiting DC.

It's hard not to tear up when you walk past the Vietnam Veterans Memorial when you know every engraved name was someone's son or husband, daughter or wife. Thanks to all who served especially those who sacrificed their lives.

This is such an important memorial, but as with the others, you really need a guide (or excellent guide book) to understand its symbolism. Like the war itself, it was designed to be a scar on the earth. If you pay attention, you can see where soldiers designated as MIA have been changed to deceased, from a cross to a diamond. Very moving.

In its simplicity it expresses what a lot of the other monuments fail to do. Everyone is quiet going thro this one.
