Mainly a building with a statute in side but still cool. You also have a great view from the pond facing side.
If you are looking at this Memorial from the opposite side of the tidal basin keep in mind it is not as close as it appears. The walk if well worth it but some might prefer to take transit.
All of Washington DC has very ornate buildings and monuments and this is no exception. It is worth climbing all the stairs to see it. This is a must see!!
A great monument and very inspiring. A large space with a statue of Thomas Jefferson in a unique structure. Not a lot to do, but a great place to reflect and enjoy the view. As typical with most DC memorials....free but not much parking, if any.
All the memorials are such wonderful sites day or night. If you go at night try to go when it's not windy or cold. The view from the inside looking out at the other monuments and tidal basin with the lights is fantastic. Our guide passed on so much information that I hadn't heard before was interesting. Would recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
Try and coincide your visit with cherry blossom festival time. Monument looks fab up close and from water if you hire a paddle boat! As impressive as Lincoln memorial though less busy. DC Circulator stops just behind it if you want to get there for $1 from the mall area or Washington monument
