Casa Meyer is a beautiful, extremely well located 19th-century casa just a couple of streets below the main historic square of the stunningly beautiful Trinidad, a UNESCO world heritage site.

There is a Tourist information that gives our free town maps directly across the road and the Plaza Mayor is just 2 roads up the slight hill from there.

The casa is beautiful and well-looked after. The furniture is beautifully classic and tasteful. The outside patio, where breakfast is served every morning was very tranquil, calm and cool in the morning sun. This is despite repairs being performed on parts of the main roof when we were there. This didn't intrude on our space at all nor did we find any of the work loud or bothersome. It was just about done by the time we edit and looked stunning.

The rooms are comfortable and reasonably well kitted out with towels, shampoo, soap, ceilings fans and an air conditioner. The bathroom was in very good condition - it looked recently refurbished. Ceilings are high. I would have appreciated 2 pillows instead of one but survived anyway ;). The room we stayed in had small 2 double beds in the room. The ceilings are high and the courtyard garden is beautiful and lush.

There are 2 resident cats (one a little kitten that lounged around) and an adorable dog that would only engage and play if you wanted it to.

Morning breakfast was what we've come to expect as typically Cuban and included fresh bread, fruit from the lush garden (including guava, pineapple, bananas and papaya), freshly squeezed guava smoothies, aromatic Cuban coffee, eggs and/or ham and cheese toasted sandwiches. What was extra and totally delicious was home-baked cookies and muffins. They arrived still warm from the oven on the breakfast table and tasted delicious.

The Meyer family are lovely people. They were always around and very helpful when we asked for advice but essentially went about their day minding their own business, so very little intrusion and no trying to get you to "eat at the casa" or "at their friend's restaurant" as so many of the other casas try to do. We appreciated the space and chilled-out nature of everyone there.

One thing to note is that there is a Beatles (?!!)-themed restaurant ("Yesterday") and music venue a little bit down the road which can get a bit loud in the evenings, but it doesn't go on too late and we ended up sleeping right through the music on day 1 and didn't hear it on day 2 by the time we came in.

This was a highlight to our trip to Cuba and definitely our favourite Casa in all of Cuba. We loved staying here and would definitely stay here again should we be so lucky to go back to Trinidad!

We have been to Cuba and Trinidad de Cuba 6 times in the last 2.5 years and we always stay at Casa Meyer. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with their own bathrooms. There is hot and cold water and breakfast is superb! The owner, Mercedes, and her son and his wife are wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming. They make you feel at home and take care of you like family. We always have a great time at the Casa.

The furnishings in the Casa take you back in times. There are great antiques and lovely to photograph. In the back there is a garden with rocking chairs and it's very pleasant to just sit and relax and forget the bustle on the street. A home away from home.

The location beats no other. It is a one minute walk away from the main square and Casa de la Musica. It is also a one minute walk away from the Viazul Bus Terminal so extremely convenient.

You would not find better value for money in Trinidad!

we spent 4 nights in Casa Meyer in central Trinidad. The House and Room very nice, taking care of the owner was excellent - the breakfast delicious.
Although no dinner is offered, but around the corner there are a variety of very good restaurants.
A big thumbs up for Casa Meyer

This is a lovely, comfortable home, with great attention paid to guests' comforts. The hosts were helpful and kind, and breakfast was delicious. It is a few steps from the main square, on a lovely cobble-stoned street.

The Mother -Son team could not be any kinder. They operated this place like friends visiting yet allowed for privacy and relaxation. The wonderful courtyard was awesome for breakfast and enjoyed at night with old run and a cigar. I highly recommend Casa Meyer. Great location
