Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay here as Miriam was booked up, but I did meet her and eat here :)
What a great Casa... from what I saw and experienced I would highly recommend. The food was great, and the rooms (which I looked round) are bright and very clean with AC and decent bathrooms. If you can't get a room here, I would still highly recommend the food as it is excellent value for a fantastic spread.

Miriam and her helpers provided top notch hospitality. The room was clean and comfortable, two beds, AC unit with remote, and fan with remote. There was also a mini-fridge with water and beer for purchase (at very reasonable cost). Miriam was exceptionally sweet and took time to sit and chat with us about her life in Cuba and about her family, her business, the country as a whole, etc. It was awesome having the opportunity to share a conversational exchange with such a wonderful lady.

I would absolutely recommend this place. You can find a decent room anywhere. This place is special because Miriam is awesome, she's incredibly kind and hospitable, and she knows EVERYONE. She arranged our mountain hikes, restaurant reservations, and even transportation for three people back to Havana. You can trust her guidance. She is the best.

Our stay at Casa Miriam was enjoyable. Miriam clearly is a businesswoman and I am sure she can be tough. Otherwise a very big casa like hers wouldn’t work as smoothly as it does. And of course she has an excellent helper in Olinda. With both women we had a lot of laughter and conversations without even speaking each other’s language.
The room was clean but small even though we booked well in advance. Miriam gave the bigger rooms to families with small children which was fine with us. Who needs a big room when you are only in there for sleeping anyways? The meals we had at Miriam’s were ample and tasty. The patio was huge and we enjoyed the colorful art work all around the property done by her daughter.
Miriam took care of every need. She organized a taxi (Fernando with his purple car and matching shirt) for our day trips and matched us up with people for our taxi trip to Cienfuegos. Most importantly she helped us with a problem we had with another company.
If we ever come back to Trinidad we will stay at Casa Miriam again.

We spent three nights at Casa Miriam and highly recommend it to anyone. The casa is in a great location on a quiet street a short stroll to the centre of town. Miriam and her lovely staff were very helpful and friendly during our stay. The room was large, clean and had its own little patio area. The roof terrace was huge with great views. The breakfast was plentiful and the grilled lobster dinner was amazing (I had more expensive lobster at another restaurant in Trinidad and it wasn’t as good as the one at Miriam’s). Thank you Miriam, Linda and Irelis!

A bit more of a rustic casa – room a bit shabby and dated decor, and we had a choice between a boiling hot shower in our en-suite or a cold outdoor communal shower! But decent air con and fan though, and our room had a fridge and everything you needed in. We also slept really well there – very quiet and peaceful. For three nights, it was fine. Also a really good casa for meeting people – a lot of guests from others down the same road seemed to come around to this one for breakfast, and we met some fellow Brits. Could walk to the Plaza Major in about 15 mins, and it has a huge and beautifully decorated roof terrace – covered in murals, with loads of seating. We enjoyed drinking up there. Miriam and all the staff in the casa spoke no English, but we actually managed okay with lots of hand gestures and a Spanish phrasebook! And they helped us to negotiate hiring bikes for a day, and were always very kind – one of them went above and beyond and washed our shoes after we’d been hiking in the Topes Collantes mountains (free of charge) which was very sweet! A lovely community atmosphere there.
