Our server was friendly and informative about the local area and its history. We were the only guests in the dining room and when it came the food was inedible - and we were hungry! The full plates were removed without comment or apology. The following evening we ate in the Slip Inn at Havelock, which was absolutely great, and the bill was lower!

Stayed in the area so visited here twice within a week. Both time very friendly hosts and lovely meals too. The allday snack meals are very reasonable priced.

We had an overpriced awful meal here. The two girls working front of house were delightful BT brand new to hospitality and their job, they tried very hard on a very busy night but were unsupported by their grumpy boss/cook. I thought that they did a great job all things considered.

The food was very expensive. We had two separate orders that were combined into one plate that literally consisted of kumara chips and 4 prawn twisters for $27, a bit of salad or some vegetables would have improved things. The food itself was nice. The problem was that they charged up market prices for down market food. My

We had dinner here and it was great. This is a lovely place and bought back memories of my travels in England..especially the garden out front..and all the furnishings and mementos inside. Well worth a visit.

This place has mixed reviews. We were staying nearby and obviously enough it is the only local choice. All the food we had was of a good standard and the blue cod fish and chips was excellent. It doesn't claim to be a Michelin restaurant, it is a country pub. The beer is cold and cheap and the food good value. The service was a bit haphazard but prompt.

No complaints and we ate there three times during our holiday. Interesting memorabilia and local books to look at while waiting too.
