Nice hotel. Good clean rooms. We had an awesome view of the harbour from our room. Need to install an elevator to the top floor otherwise a nice hotel and we had a pleasant stay. Short stroll to shops and restaurants.

The rooms are average at best and need air con. If you go to the bar for a drink you need to take out a mortgage. The restaurant meal was poor and expensive 2 of us had the Lamb Rump and it was tough and we left most of it. I am a kiwi and am pretty embarrased if this is the way overseas tourists are treated. Very over rated.

Strange place – check-in was very cramped and access to the rooms from there was only possible by going up or down stairs – hardly practical when lugging heavy cases like ours. There was a lift (elevator), but it was at the end of the accommodation wing, so accessed via steps again.
The room was spacious and very clean but lacked any character. Good location in the town and a great view of the harbour.

The Picton Yacht Club Hotel is quite old and has a old world charm about it. Typical pub grub and drinks. Very clean glasses and surroundings. Worth a visit particularly if you are with a group as the pub was very quiet when we were there.

When we arrived at around 11am there was nobody at reception. We had to whistle and call out to get someone’s attention, obviously the lady had something to eat, greeting us with food in her mouth.
Rooms are extremely nice and big and very clean, but servicing of them was also a bit of a challenge. We left the room at 10am, arriving back at 3:30pm hoping to have clean towels to have a shower , and nothing was done. When we called reception, we were told it’s very busy. We travel a lot, and Keats in busy times to much bigger places, but rooms are always done within a couple of hours.
Maybe more staff in such busy times??
Location is great, but so are most of Picton’s accomodation as we found out.
Certainly will try another place next time.

Cheers
Andrea and Robert
