We love to take visitors to the FAC - they lalwasy enjoy the grotto-like cafe surrounded with Fremantle limestone and lots of greenery, shaed with umbrellas - good food served with a smile. And then a wander through the gift shop which has wonderful locally made pottery, jewellery, wooden items, and much more that make lovely souvenirs. And books published by Fremantle Press about Western Australia. In Summer they have local musicians playing in the outside courtyward - vistors take picnics and enjoy the balmy evenings. The gothic building was built in the 17th Century by convicts ans started out life as a lunatic asylum - lots of history for those who are interested. A must see if you are visiting Fremantle.
