We had booked the townhouse because we had fond memories of Tavira and in particular Quinta do Perogil. But, being 15 years since our last visit, we were prepared that time would have changed the place we loved. Yes, the years had made the place different but Tavira was still the picturesque ancient village, with narrow cobbled streets, ancient Roman Bridge, traditional restaurants and entertainments. The range of lush sandy beaches, where the ocean gently if somewhat robustly on occasion cascaded into the shore were a true paradise, if somewhat fairly busy.
So that was our surroundings but the beautiful accommodation we stayed in proved to be our jewel in a platinum setting. From the correspondence with the friendly and convivial owner, through to being met by the lovely friendly property management couple on our arrival, the arrangements were superb. Even when we had a bit of an issue on our flight, they were supportive, helpful and flexible.
The propert is spread over 3 floors with the ground floor entrance opening onto bedroom 3. For privacy we kept the blind closed throughout which made the space a little dimly lit but it was nicely cool and a superb living space. On the first floor were the living areas, dining room, kitchen, lounge and bathroom. All these rooms were excellently kitted with new and high quality equipment that would meet your every need. The size of each room was spacious and comfortable to sit and get on with daily living even as a group of 6 together! The 3 Patio/Balcony areas added to the living experience and gave room, air and openness, yet still very private and spacious to enjoy personal time.
The 2nd floor has the remaining 2 bedrooms, one ensuite, a second bathroom and a very spacious roof terrace with jacuzzi and barbecue area. The Master Bedroom has an ensuite spa bath and shower with wonderful wall to wall sliding wardrobes and a lovely terrace to enjoy early morning tea while watching the gorgeous breath king views. The second twin bedroom is large and comfortable for two to share without being too confined.
This is a truly wonderful luxurious holiday experience. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not fully functional on our visit but that did not detract from this fantastic place.
A beautiful townhouse set above Tavira with wonderful views. Everything in the townhouse was clean and new. We enjoyed the hot tub on the patio on numerous occasions. There was air conditioning (not that we needed it) and large fans to use.We decided to hire a car after a couple of days, despite being able to enjoy a lovely 20 minute walk down into town, we found a car easier for us to explore more sites further afield.
The owner (Carolyn) organised for someone to meet us on our arrival and show us around and also to check out.
I will certainly go back to this pretty town and stay in this property.
