Wanted something different than posh Ruth’s, and went this way. The service here is outstanding. Calm and attentive, and make you comfortable.

The menu have good variety, and the same goes for the selection of wine.

Fish soup and Foie Gras terrine as starters, Rack of Lamb and Flounder, excellent prepared and served. Tasty!

Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.

Would definitely come back!

Thank Brian F

I must be the only person who thinks basically ALL of Scandinavian restaurants & bars are WAY over-priced and under-serviced. It's really hard to find a place that's half-decent in Scandinavia, especially in Denmark. And forget about value. Does not exist. This place is no different. 3 leaves of lettuce for a 20-dollar appetizer doesn't cut it. Waiting 1 hour for the main course thereafter doesn't cut it. Being greeted in an empty restaurant and being summarily told there's no space except outside where it's also empty doesn't cut it. There shouldn't be a 1-hour wait between appetizer and main course, especially when the restaurant is empty. Also, 3 leaves of lettuce don't cost that much to serve. In a parallel universe I'm sure this place was good.

We visited this place in June, a bit too early for most tourists, but I can imagine it is crowded in the main season. We entered through the nice courtyard, which had outdoor tables, but it was a bit too cold for us. Inside we were seated at a table by the window. The interior was nice with pictures and decorations on the walls. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the fish & chips on the menu, and found it excellent, actually one of the best fish & chips we have had outside UK. Fresh fish, excellently battered and good chips with it. We had a glass of very good white wine, which went well with the fish. All in all an excellent experience!

During a cycle trip in windy conditions we found a haven at Hyttefadet where we had lunch. Nice atmosphere with a spacious locale with humorous paintings on the wall. Good service and exactly the kind of food we wanted.
