Intimate atmosphere in this small Orthodox church. Well worth a look inside. Fine icons and mural decorations.

Cool little church. Lovely gold inside and whilst compact it’s well worth a 10 minutes look around. Slightly outside the old town.

Worth a look at this Orthodox Church, near the freedom monument. It’s not on most maps, but you can’t miss it.

Its hard to miss this brightly painted building. Worth wandering past and having a look inside while you are passing. Photos not allowed.

It's hard to miss this bright yellow building in central Riga, and whilst it is not on the tourist map, and photos are not permitted inside, for any church history buff this has to be on the must see list. The icons are beautiful and the church is constantly maintained by a devoted number of women. A gold coin donation is kind consideration to help with the maintenance.

This temple mainly consists of a central circular nave surrounded by a gallery where icones and relics are displayed. The nave is topped by a beautiful dome with a splendid candelabre hanging from it. The decor is really impressive. Access from the street is very easy, so people come and pray as they go to work or do their shopping.

When you see the shimmering gold topped dome of the temple head straight there. This orthodox church was an astral observatory under the Soviets. Now it's a gold topped dome with a lot of worship.
