Owner description: E.A.T. Riga Tours - Walking Tours, Bicycle Tours & Rental, Degustations, Excursions, Events and much more! Experience Alternative Tours! A great way to see Riga from a local perspective. Visit various districts of Riga away from the main tourist sites - Old markets, local food, run down harbours, historical quarters, industrial areas, artist districts and vintage boutique shops. See the contrast between old workers quarters with wooden houses and upper class Art Nouveau buildings. Discover the real Riga. No, its not just about food!

My friend and I joined this private tour in January this year. This place (Skrunda) is an abandoned confidential town during Soviet times now become a training base for Latvian Army and NATO troops. It will open to public while they do not have training. I would like to say the tour guide, Lauris, is very professional and explained to us patiently about this site and bring us to some featured units in the quarters.

Just a little tip for the people who would like to join this tour, please wear a thick based shoes because the nails on the floor.

We were nine friends having a great Beer Brewery tour with Artürs. We visitied some great bars/breweries, we definitely wouldn't have seen if we hadn't booked this tour, and we tasted some interesting and great beer. Artürs was very knowledgeable - both when it came to the city of Riga and the beers and breweries. I would recommend this tour for groups of friends and all other beer lovers.

Great walking tour of the Moscow district, a must visit place if you’re interested in Riga’s (or Europe’s) WWII and post-war history. This district behind the rail tracks was home to many Russians, the Jewish ghetto (of which parts remain) and still has many old wooden houses. Walking there - it’s some sixteen blocks in total - really takes you into the past, not polished but with rough edges all around. ETA guide Kaspar was well-informed and up to date, very pleasant to walk with, even at temperatures of around - 12. Walk at a good pace and you can see and experience everything.

I strongly recommend these tours which offer insight into hidden aspects of the city that a regular tour may not include. Our tour guide spoke excellent English, was very well educated and had in-depth knowledge of his subject matter. He was extremely engaging and eloquent and shed light into many interesting aspects of the city and its history, down to surprising details and facts. Definitely not your run-of-the mill tour. The organisers actually care for what they do and take the time and care to show it.
