The hotel is well located, close (about 15min walk) to bus terminal if you travel to and from airport by bus. Quite close to all the main attractions, old city and parks, supermarkets and cafes close by. The hotel is however in a busy road so you hear traffic noise to the rooms. Staff was friendly. Room was good-sized and clean but in a desperate need of renovation, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was surprisingly good. An average budget hotel.

This is a centrally located hotel, so within walking distance, but also with plenty of traffic noise. When we first arrived, we were given a second floor room, right over the main road, despite our initial request for a quiet room. I had to go twice down to the reception to ask for a room change - which happened in the end, but after plenty of eye-rolling on the part of the receptionist. Rooms on the top floor are definitely quieter, unless you have things going on next door - there is not much sound insulation. Breakfast is adequate. General decor of the hotel is uninspiring.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms overlooking the courtyard can be quieter

The hotel has NO elevator (with 4 floors), the room was ok, small bathrooms. They tried to renovate it, but they left out some important things like the stairs and the bathrooms and the things they did renovate, like the floor and paint don't match, and are different in every room. The hotel is in the center of the city. Service was ok, and the hotel smells of plastic and sawdust.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS - NO
Dog Friendly
Confusingly the business address is Aleksandra C[h]aka iela but the entrance is on Gertrudes iela through a ground-floor tunnel.
Car parking: street parking is available at approximately €2/hour or €19/day but free 20:00-08:00. Recommended gated and guarded parking is available through reception at €5/day and is located at 58 Stabu iela (no more than 7 minutes walk away - 15 minutes with heavy suitcases).
Reception and breakfast room are on 1st floor (up) at top of spiral marble steps. There is no lift so pack light in weights of 10 kilo or less.
Accommodation is available on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.
All rooms are en-suite, have air-conditioning units and flat screen tv.
2nd floor rooms are of newer design and fittings than the 3rd floor rooms. The rooms on the 4th are an unknown quantity.
Breakfast consists of a large variety of cereals, sliced meat, sliced cheese and salad vegetables, cooked (scrambled eggs, wiener sausages, bacon) + cold hard-boiled eggs, hot porridge, bread/toast, jams, juices and coffee, and teas.
Positive aspects: Location in old city surrounded by extravagant C19th and early C20th architecture on non-busy road.
Negative aspects: No lift. Paper-thin walls. Blackout curtains are not fitted.

Room Tip: Design, fixtures and fittings of rooms on 2nd floor are superior.

We paid £56 for 3 nights including Breakfast in April. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is centrally located and the breakfast had a good selection.
Really couldn't fault it for the price.
