i chose this hotel because it was part of a promotion and I wanted one by the beach. It was good value but a bit sterile if all you want is a bed. It is a large campus of 7 buildings, 3 residential and the rest part of the spa/leisure/medical complex. Our room was pretty basic, no hair dryer, no tea/coffee making facilities but there was a balcony and a bar and coffee shop on the 6th floor with nice views over the estuary and beach. The breakfast was very ordinary, a buffet that was not replenished very often. We went down to breakfast at 9am and most platters were empty. If you go there for treatments and plan to use the gym and pool, then this could be for you. If you are just looking for a place to stay, look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Get a room in Building 3

Parts of this Soviet-era spa have been renovated recently and the work was still going on in July 2015. The renovated accomodation building has nice rooms, but is homey and cozy like a hospital. No air con, which can be an issue on hot summer days. Basic breakfast is served in a similarly hospital-like eating hall. Unlike other big spa hotels in Pärnu, Tervis is not directly on the beach. The benefits are more quiteness and a shorter walk to the restaurants in the city center.

Big minus for the staff ignoring a complaint. No cold water came from the tap in the sink - a valve was obviously closed somewhere by mistake (there was both cold and hot water in the walk-in shower). I complained at once, but the lady in the reception said she was no engineer and could not help (!). I asked her to report my complaint and she promised to do so. The next day as I checked out the receptionist (not the same as the day before) had no information of my complaint and she didn't seem to care, either. No apology, no offers to reduce the bill.

Better attitude, please. If you're serious with your business I'm sure you don't want the customers to feel ignored.

Tervis spa hotel is a campus of 7 buildings linked by enclosed walkways that guide you from university medical center, mud spa, culture center, sports complex with tennis courts (under renovation till sept2015), and three buildings of accommodation ranging from the affordable basic room to the well apportioned suite.

The staff has an excellent service culture. Everyone from the front desk phone call in booking to the house keeper was accommodating. Often they went above and beyond :) I would happily bring my family back here

Had a room in 2. building which was renovated few years ago (I Suppose). All rooms had a balcony or terrace but no aircon. On hot days, may be too hot in the rooms. Doublebeds are just two separate beds, not even connected together. In toilet you can hear when someone upstairs flush the toilet.
Spa little bit old and needs renovation, actually some parts are under construction.
Gym small, but equipment ok

I have stayed in Tervis SPA for about 10 times. I would suggest a new building as it is very fresh and nice. Breakfast is a bit mediocre, should have a bigger choice of food. Personal is very friendly and helpful. SPA is also very nice, but needs a little refreshing. Locations is great! Located near the sea, so great for walks and only about 1,5 km to the old town.

PS! Love the apple cake on the fifth floor!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with good WiFi, as in some rooms its a bit too slow.
