Spent several days in May at this boutique hotel and was enamored with its central location, just steps from Napoleon's 'favorite' church St. Annes, locally Sv. Onos. the accommodations were excellent, aside from the smallish shower enclosure, which I blame on my western girt...The rooms are indeed fashioned by famous authors names and are pleasant and well kept, toilets are modern.
Competent helpful staff who spoke, and understood, several languages of both eastern and western patrons made one feel as a participant in a UN conclave. Discussing in the commonly understood language of English, various topics on the pleasant terrace overlooking the mostly quiet street. On certain Sundays, musicians flood the streets in the olde village with a cacophony of sounds, from a delightfully mesmerizing solo violin concerto by an equally mesmerizing young lady student of the Vilnius university, to reggae....The hotel also utilizes the courtyard of this 1800's Manor Home as a parking area for residents cars, which in olde village, is at a premium.
Food ? Oh My.. breakfast is included and was made to order, the oatmeal was the best I have ever tasted, maybe because it was 'un-processed'...try the freshly squeezed APPLE juice, a first in my traveling breakfast experience. The service provided by the attentive and very attractive service personnel was a pleasure to experience. As you are in the center of old village just steps away from Pilies Street and it's shopping, entertainment and restaurants, a car is not a necessity in this truly walkable city.
