We arrived here on Friday afternoon for two nights and learnt that our booking was lost. Luckily we were nicely rearranged to 5 star Ramada suite with the same price for the first night. When we came back here for the second night the hotel offered us full dinner at their cozy restaurant! We had such wonderful service and delicious dinner! It's of course a very bad mistake to miss someone's booking but the service we got to recover could not have been better!
Hemingway room was pretty nicely furbished and cozy. Some noise from the street though.
The breakfast next morning at the beautiful terrace was disappointing. Service there was from the other extreme, unfriendly and unattentive. I ordered fruit yoghurt and noted that it was out of the date. The explanation for that was that it was the last one they had - no apologies offered. Caviaar with blinis tasted old and couldn't eat it.
Still we had one exciting story ahead, though it was not the hotel's fault. The reception ordered us a taxi to catch the minibus to Kaunas airport. Normally the taxi comes there in some minutes but now it took 20min. Then we were in real hurry and the receptionist asked the driver to speed up. He indeed did... but we found ourselves in the wrong place. The minibus leaves from Panorama... HOTEL NOT SHOPPING CENTER. Some more speeding and driving against red lights. Surprisingly we caught the minibus at the last minute - it luckily didn't leave exactly in time!
