Review of Sandor Hotel
3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Jun 2019
We visited Pécs to see family and Hotel Millennium was a good choice. Located on the hill, it is a bit of a walk from the city center and I recommend taking a taxi if you have any mobility issues. The hotel is nicely maintained, breakfast is nice and the staff is very helpful and accommodating.
Would stay there again.

Pecs is a beautyful small town in southern Hungary. It is easy to go there, from Budapest Airport with minibus "travel4you",or intercity train from Budapest.
My hotel lies in the northern hillside straight up from city center,10 minutes walk.It is a small hotel, equipped in good tasta, and helpful personel. An extra experience is sauna without extra cost!
From the terace you see most of the city and surrounding, and a special view is the four towers of Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral(se picture). The first church on this place is from the roman empire 4. century.Nearby also newly excavated mausoleum.
Near the hotel goes a well preserved wall from the Ottoman Empire(1543 - 1686).
Pecs was european Capital of Culture in 2010.Visit Pecs, and you will not be disappointed.

Room tip: First floor with terace

Located just up the hill from central Pécs, Hotel Millennium offers comfy accommodations with a reasonable breakfast, and a small recreation area including a pool and sauna… The view over the city is amazing…The staff are very attentive once you get to know them... I have stayed here three times and will stay here again…

Stayed w a friend 2 nights. the room was clean but hot even in spite of air conditioning, parking was a nightmare guess due to a conference. Bed clothes are of cheap, nylon material, not convenient to sleep in. 2 worst things were breakfast - we hardly could sit, they did not clean the empty tables and refill of food was slow, juices were terrible, we finally did not dare to try coffee - and the arrogant owner who believes his hotel is the best but maybe would worth checking some real 4 stars hotel......

Stayed 3 nights. The hotel is sited outside the city centre. It's about a 10 min stroll all down a relatively steep hill meaning a 10 minute walk uphill. Not suitable for people with disabilities.

The hill on which the hotel sits has views over Pecs and is a vantage points for photographers (and there were many) taking pictures of the Pecs cathedral and city, particularly at night.

There is ample car parking much of which is undercover.

I had a double room which was spacious, clean and very quiet. It had a fridge and plenty of wardrobe space. However, there was no safe or kettle or toiletries except for the basics. My room was on the third level where the rooms have access to an outdoor area with views over the city. A real bonus.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of food including scrambled eggs, etc. There was outdoor seating so you could eat your breakfast, have a drink, etc outside. The hotel had a restaurant but we chose to walk into the city centre for dinner.

The hotel had an indoor (small) pool but no gym

Staff on check in and throughout my stay were all very helpful and courteous. In fact they were excellent.

Room tip - ask for room on level 3. It may be a little more expensive but is worth it.

This hotel surprised on the upside. It is very close to being a hidden gem. Would I stay here again - definitely. Highly recommended.

Location is great, with fantastic view! Very good parking facilities, friendly and helpful staff. We were offered a nice room, with comfy bed. The bathroom is generally good, but it could be better to place in the bathtub a non-skid rubber carpet.

Room tip: Rooms on higher floors have a nice panorama!
