The double room was comfortable and clean. The window could be opened only partially because the bed is in the way. The shower/toilet was a small cubicle. I stayed 2 nights for 42/Euro/night. I could hear my room neighbors talking and a very loud school class. As for a room at the end of the corridor and/or at the back. Breakfast disappointing: when I asked the waiter if he had any plain black tea (they had a big box of tea but the sections "English Breakfast" and "Earl Grey" were empty) - he pointed to the "chai" and said "this is tea". The staff at the reception was more professional and friendly. The location is very practical to visit the centre.

I am sorry to write, that within a wonderfull trip throgh Hungary we had a bad experience in the Amstel-Hotel. We stayed there two nights. In the evening of the day in Pecs we found out, that someone stole in our room 30 000 Forint, which is about 120 Euro.
The lady at the desk told us, that the manager would be there in the morning to solve the problem.
In the morning she told us, that the manager had to work somewhere else and the police would laugh at us, cause we didn't use the safe. She told us also, that the stuff in the Hotel don't steal.
That was all the "care about the guest".
Cause we didn't want to "spend" another day in Pecs we didn't call the police. Would they speak English or German?

I will not stay in this Hotel again!!! If you do so be carefull!!
