Description: Castro Bistro is one of the legendary community places in Budapest. During the day it's a nice cosy place serving delicious daily menu - in the evenings it turns into a spontaneous and vibrant party. We have a wide selection of palinka and the short drinks will be measured the old fashioned way, 3 cl and 5 cl. A variety of international homemade dishes is on the menu. The kitchen is open until 11pm, but soups can be ordered until 11:30 pm. The daily menu is available from 12:00 am. We open exhibitions on a monthly basis and our little stage is available for live concerts. We have baby chair and a changing table. Bikers would find a pump and other tools. Bowls are ready to serve our furry friends when they are thirsty.Summertime we open a big sunny terrace. The place is air conditioned. Free Wi-Fi is available for our guests.

That's too bad.. I was so satisfied the first time, but this time the waiter was really odious : he wasn't polite and honest. He made us pay 6 drinks instead of 2, and his justification was so inconsistent. Besides it's not possible to pay separately at least because you have to precise before to eat, that's scandalous.
Moreover, food was excellent and the quality price perfect. You can eat typical Hungarian plate and dessert for 6 euros.

So maybe, the solution is to change waiter or explain him the courtesy...

We visited on a rainy afternoon for lunch. Generally there is a young clientele and the place has a very relaxed attitude creating an alternative laid-back vibe. From the menu we chose the Harira Soup and crunchy spinach balls with hummus. Both very nice vegetarian dishes. Quite cheap. Would recommend if you like this type of place.

I went there with some friends during my trip to Budapest.
All of us had a different soup (pepper, goulasch, duck) witch was quite tasty.
My friends had salads as a main dish, and according to them it was good as well.
The place is a kind of old fashion place from the 60's, but quite cosy.
All in all ok. We would come again.
