Description: Castro Bistro is one of the legendary community places in Budapest. During the day it's a nice cosy place serving delicious daily menu - in the evenings it turns into a spontaneous and vibrant party. We have a wide selection of palinka and the short drinks will be measured the old fashioned way, 3 cl and 5 cl. A variety of international homemade dishes is on the menu. The kitchen is open until 11pm, but soups can be ordered until 11:30 pm. The daily menu is available from 12:00 am. We open exhibitions on a monthly basis and our little stage is available for live concerts. We have baby chair and a changing table. Bikers would find a pump and other tools. Bowls are ready to serve our furry friends when they are thirsty.Summertime we open a big sunny terrace. The place is air conditioned. Free Wi-Fi is available for our guests.

If you want probably one of the best Goulash soups in Budapest this place is a must. The portion was large including bread and good value. You will not be disappointed !

Good food. We had a very tasty gulash soup and some veal patties. Both tasted great. Also, fantastic atmosphere and space. Amazing value!

My opinion and I have really "ok" standards: the place smells bad, our food took 45 minutes to arrive and when it came was cold. I didn't like the tasty of anything, even the pineapple juice that I ordered was really bad, my friends tried too and we had the same opinion above all.

Found this restaurant in google maps looking for somewhere to eat on our last night in Budapest. Place seems to have two entrances, one looked like more if a quiet, cafe vibe and the side we were in was more of a bustling, busy bar restaurant.
It was a Saturday night and we hadn't booked but we thought we'd try our luck, the waiter was very helpful and asked if we would mind sitting at the bar, which we didnt.
The bar is filled with posters and stickers all over the walls which give such a trendy, busy vibe.
When we ordered our food the guy at the bar was very happy to help with explaining what some of the ingredients were and also told us from the start what they had run out of.
They food came at a reasonable time and went down perfectly with a few beers after a long day of walking around the city. I had pork in a tomatoey sauce and my boyfriend had chicken with rice. After the food we stayed for a few more beers because they were so good (and cheap!)
Would definately recommend this place for young travellers.

Great food, great atmosphere. Why haven't you gone yet? Movie posters and art decorates the walls of this cozy restaurant. The food is authentic and the service is great!
