The hotel was excellent. We were two familys from Finland , all togheter 10 people. The rooms where very nice and clean, good standard. The breakfeast was very good, and they had even an asian style of breakfest. The staff were very friendly and helpful, everything could be fixed. The locaition of the hotel was very good, everything in a walking distance.

Room Tip: It,s good to book in advance, yoy could get a very good price

We really enjoyed our stay in Budapest and the Afla Fiesta was a good base to explore the city from.
The reception staff were always helpful, friendly, polite (all spoke good English) and were always obliging to provide any information.
The room was spacious (there was room for two large single beds and a sofa and chair), clean and had good air conditioning- a welcome feature after a warm day sightseeing! The bathroom had all the requirements you would need, including free shampoo, soap and body lotion.
Our only criticism was that there was no safety deposit box in our room, but we felt safe enough to leave our passports and other valuables in the room.
The breakfast buffet had an incredible amount of different foods to choose from e.g fresh fruit, pastries/bread, yoghurt, ham, cheese, eggs, cooked foods etc.
The hotel is located in an ideal place to explore the city, either on foot or using public transport. The Basillica and the Opera House are a short walk away, as is the Great Synagogue. The river is also a short distance away, and is a lovely place to walk beside just before an evening meal. (Keep an eye out for the memorial for the Jewish people killed by the Arrowmen on the riverbank- 60 pairs of shoes scattered at the side of the river, near the Parliament buildings. An incredibly powerful memorial for a truely destructive event.)

We would definitely stay here again when we return to the beautiful city of Budapest.

A great location! Easy to walk everywhere and the hotel is on a quiet street with nice cafes, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are a little basic, could do with a simple picture on the walls BUT, very large and good breakfast.

We had four days in Budapest and thoroughly enjoyed our time but this hotel needs a bit of work. It certainly is not four star and is probably lucky to be three. The rooms were spacious and the air-conditioner worked quite well, which was good because it was hot whilst we were there. Breakfast was ordinary and they probably could have catered better for non-European tourists but we are not complaining because we didn't pay much. The staff at reception were helpful and obliging.l

As others have pointed out, the location is fantastic; minutes away (on foot) from the Opera or Basilica. We walked everywhere and barely had to use public transit during our 5 days in Budapest. The hotel had a free, varied breakfast, which was much appreciated.

The problems lie with the rooms - paper-thin walls, horrible echo (nothing on the walls), jammed / broken curtain rod (had to clip the curtains together with a safety pin to get some privacy in the evening), spider webs in the corners, shower stall door didn't fully close (flooded bathroom), cigarettes and some other trash behind furniture (we had to move it while searching for an outlet)...

The fancy lobby makes you think you are at a really nice hotel, but hallways and rooms (at least the cheaper ones) are not in a good condition. It's like the hotel is pretending to be something it's not. We thought it was a pretty good deal, but the 4-star rating must be a joke. I loved the location and breakfast, and the staff were accommodating (we got an early check-in), but I would check out other options before staying here again.
