We traded time share points for this resort.
It is rural, lovely, not primitive, and comfy.
We drove to the resort from Prague......DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS WITHOUT A GPS and, DEFINITELY, DO NOT ARRIVE AFTER DARK!!!!!
WAY too much STRESS!!!!
One must remember, the GPS satellites are not as numerous over the Eastern European countries...or so it seems...it's a true "driver" and "navigator" nightmare.

Once there.....it's lovely...it was cold and we didn't have to deal with the lack of AC, as the other commentators have noted. We had a cabin. It was warm and cozy.
The kitchen was small...stove top, small frig, small sink...small appliances were plentiful...microwave...which did have some sort of convection function...BUT..there are not booklets or directions....we discovered it after a couple of days.
But, one is perfectly able to pull together a meal...
Bathroom had two sinks, large shower, toilet, bidet, and granite...very nice.
We had a car, so the grocery stores(2 large) were easy..ALDO and TESCO. Tesco has a larger selection and better prices. Lots of fresh vegies and the breads are great!!!
There's a drive to Budapest...but it's not outrageous.
We didn't use public transit, although, it is available..nor did we use the facility transit.
We looked at the restaurant menu....and perhaps it is seasonal,..but there were just too many entrees of goose for us...so sadly, we can not comment on that either.
The reception staff were helpful. Our RCI info indicated that the reception closed at 8pm..not so...it's 24 hrs. That would have been helpful when we were driving...but, that is on RCI!!!
As with most time shares, we were told the linens would be changed mid week...not so, the house keepers arrived daily and exchanged the used towels, and provided any shampoo, lotions, etc..... we needed.
The town just below the resort has a small grocery, drug stores and a post office.
Since it was cold, we didn't use the heated pool, nor the massage services. We had planned to, just didn't get to it.

This would probably be great in the warmer months....as we ascended the "hill", our temps dropped several degrees...so I would assume in the warmer months...it would be cooler here than in Budapest.

Room Tip: I'd ask for a cabin...but the hotel rooms face to pool.....

We stayed just for a night in a cottage with sauna. There is totally everything you need inside and it is clean. The restaurant is really cute and warm and the service is amazing!! People there really make you feel welcome:) just one thing-breakfast was a bit poor, there was nothing warm. But this didn't spoil our weekend;) thank you!

We stayed at the Petnehazy Club Hotel in June of 2015. It is a charming, rural hotel located in the Buda Hills about twenty minutes from the excitement of Budapest. We booked our visit on our Wyndham timeshare points via RCI. Transportation from the airport can be arranged in advance. Our driver, Gabriel was waiting for us in the terminal. During our one week stay the (24-hour) front desk employees were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, professional and yes, they spoke English. The resort has both cabins and hotel rooms. Our room had walls of pine. Our room had a kitchenette to prepare simple meals. The resort also has a restaurant, outdoor and indoor pools and a sauna. We enjoyed the quiet nights and the sweet fresh air. But please be aware that Petnehazy is not a luxury hotel. There is no A/C. We slept with the balcony doors open. Our room did not have the usual fancy pen and scratch pads common at home. No Kleenex box and I'm not sure there were washcloths. Also the Wi-Fi was spotty in our room but excellent near the check-in desk. Transportation was not a problem. Petnehazy drivers are available to take you wherever you want to go but it is not free. Still, the prices seemed reasonable to us. Public transportation is available but we did not use it. We wanted to maximize our time sightseeing, not waiting for a bus. The organized, guided tours from Petnehazy are an excellent opportunity to see Budapest, Esztergom, Visegrad, Szentendre and even Vienna. Some of our fondest memories were touring with guests from other countries on the Petnehazy tours. Budapest is easy enough to navigate on your own. The subway system is easy to understand and finding your way around is pretty easy even on foot. Oh, the sights we saw along the Danube. We would not hesitate to stay at the Petnehazy Club Hotel again and again.

Room Tip: Better country views from the second and third floor rooms.

My friend found this through her RCI membership. We picked this resort as it looked like a very relaxing and quiet location away from city centre. This was exactly what we experienced at the end of our holiday through Europe. It is quite a distance from Budapest however you simply book a shuttle service when you want to go in and it is very convenient, you just have to be organised. The highlight for us were the day tours that Suzanna organised for us. They were fantastic! And very good value. We stayed for 1 week and organised these as soon as we arrived.
The cabins are very clean, comfortable and heated. They have a small kitchenette which we used for breakfast. There is a small supermarket, 15 mins walking distance.
There is a restaurant on site which we used every night. Good selection and value. In our opinion breakfast was a let down, selection poor and was not at an international standard. However this should not be a reason to dismiss this resort. We had a wonderful time, staff were very accommodating.

My friend got a lodge in this place through RCI. The place is somewhat inconvenient for city sightseeing. Luckily we are interested in seeing places outside of Budapest also. With Susanna's help, we were able to sign up for a few day trips and visited a few interesting towns. Highlight of trips: Danube bend, Balaton lake, and Edgar. Due to the chaos of the Budapest train station, we need to find another mean to get out of Budapest. Susanna was very patient and helpful in arranging car transport so we were able to leave Hungary and arrived Vienna smoothly. Thanks Susanna!
As for the place, the lodge is clean and the on site restaurant is gourmet.
