We stayed here for 4 nights on a Jet2 break. The hotel was great in all respects. The most noticeable thing was the staff who whilst being very friendly and helpful also displayed the right amount of professionalism without being over the top. A perfect balance.
We had emailed before we stayed and asked for a quiet room on a high floor and that is what we got. A room on the top floor facing the street. The double glazing was excellent at keeping any noise out - apart from the emergency vehicles. In Budapest it seems that the drivers like to see who has the loudest siren!! I don't think any double glazing can cut that out. Blackout curtains were excellent. The room - a standard room - was a touch on the compact side however we were rarely there. It was well appointed. Complimentary water every day and well looked after by housekeeping staff.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We found it better to order freshly cooked items from the menu rather than get from the hot plates. Coffee was not so good but we thought that was the case with most coffee in Budapest - apart from, dare I say it, Starbucks.
Location was even better than we hoped. Although we walked most places we did use the metro and bus and these are steps away from the hotel. What a great transport system they have. Puts us to shame! We ate and drank a lot in the immediate area and never had a problem with any one bothering us at all. So we thought the area was fantastic.
We had one small issue which is worth putting down here for future guests. We used the taxi service provided by the hotel. It was spot on with good friendly drivers. There he was in arrivals as we came through the door despite a long wait at baggage. On the return leg we arranged for a 5.30pm collection. At 5.45 we were getting a little anxious and approached the desk. They were excellent at chasing it up for us. Problem was Friday traffic on the airport road. According to the driver it happens every Friday rush hour as people leave Budapest. Right enough, as we drove to the airport the road was choked. However we got there in plenty of time. So if you need to get to the airport on a Friday evening allow yourself some more time.
So a great stay with no complaints at all and a hotel we would not hesitate to recommend.
