I have stayed at Bohem Art Hotel twice now. The hotel is located in a street running parallel with the Danube River on the Pest side, only five minutes from the Szabadság bridge and only ten minutes from the Gellert Spa. In other words, you're pretty close to everything.

The hotel itself is new and stylishly decorated, each room with its own unique wall painting. There's no noise from the neigbouring rooms, which is really a plus. The rooms are not too big, but what lacks in size is made up for by the interior design!

On top of that, the staff is very friendly and all smiles. I would stay there again anytime!

Overall a good hotel for a brief visit to Budapest, especially good value if you do not intend to spend long time in the hotel-inside the room. Helpful staff speaking good English and arranging fixed price taxi services for you. This gives a relaxed and reliable feeling to the hotel. It seems it is a very well organised and functional small hotel with a security guard at night.

Interesting and good quality breakfast, the breakfast room is quite lively and busy, yet all people seemed to happily enjoy this atmosphere and their breakfast. Breakfast hours are very good from 7 or so to 10.30, I think.

Interestingly decorated rooms and good quality fittings in the bathroom and in general. Somewhat innovative and unusual bathroom design which was a very welcome idea. Small fridge in the room also and TV with many channels, the room wall featured a painting of a woman's face over the whole back wall interestingly painted by young artists as the hotel states.

Location is close to the river side and very close (10 minutes relaxed walk) to the elegant Gellért Bath through the "Szabadság híd" bridge. The hotel is between "Erzsebet hid" and that bridge. Also perhaps another 10-15 minutes to the chain brigde-"Lanchid".

Rooms nice but fairly small in size, yet just about what you need for one or two people. Pleased with my stay.

We arrived by train and got a 7 euro taxi (recommended by the hotel) to the hotel. The welcome was warm and professional and we immediately felt very comfortable with our choice. The room was small, clean and decorated with a creative flare. Towels were changed upon request as the hotel is quite 'green'. drinks in the afternoon were provided in the lounge and the breakfast was fantastic. A good choice of food and all spread out to prevent congestion. Staff were helpful and the food was replenished before it disapeared.

The location was ideal. It was in a quiet street and very close to the river, park, market and centre. There were many cafes and retaurants close to the hotel.

We had one problem in the night with noisy neighbours but that was delt with swiftly after a phone call to reception.

I would stay there again and have already recommended the hotel to several friends of different generations!

I do not understand the good reviews for this hotel.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel and the room was tiny (actually there was just enough space to walk around the bed). There is no tub, just a shower without a door, so after your shower the whole bathroom which is approximately the size of the bed (this includes the shower) is wet. And yes the hotel is in the historic center of Budapest, however the upper floors have been recently added or completely refurbished and from the floor layout it was pretty easy to see, that the rooms could have just been bigger or merged to create proper hotel rooms. We really felt claustrophobic in there and the rooms actually resembled the cheapest cabin on a cruise ship or a japanese budget hotel. The breakfast was ok, however the coffee machine is ridiculous. Yes, these machines grind coffee but that's about it, taste was awful. Overall experience, hugely overpriced for such a tiny room, friends of us stayed at the Meridien for 3/4 of the price we paid and their room was nicer and 3 times the size (oh, and they had a tub). We will definitely not come back again. Staff was friendly though.

Dear Mark,

thank you for your review.
I'm sorry that you find our Standard (Classic) room not too spacious, but this is the first time that I can read complaints about the quality of the room. Our owner tried to select unique and quality products to design and equip the rooms.

I agree with you that despite our coffee machine grinded real coffee beans, due the milk powder the taste was not the best. Therefore I am happy to announce that we installed in June two brand new, high quality coffee machines for our breakfast, which grind coffee beans and use fresh milk. The first guest feedbacks about it are very positiv!

Thank you again for your suggestion, this help us to improve our services.

Best regards,
David Bots

I have just been in Budapest for a 4 day period with a friend of mine. We really enjoyed our stay in Boehm Art Hotel: rooms are very clean and comfortable, the staff is really nice and very helpful for any kind of request; the hotel position is perfect to visit Budapest, very close to Vaci Street (many shops and restaurants) and not far from the underground station. And, last but not least, breakfast is really good!
We definitely suggest this hotel to everyone.
