Cosmo City Hotel is located just off a main tourist street and in the heart of Budapest. From the outside it looks just like one of the many better tourist class hotels in the area but the similarity stops there. Cosmo City Hotel went that extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. The duty managers, all of them were extremely helpful and welcoming. As has been noted before, Peter in particular, a tall lump of a nice guy, who speaks and probably sings like Vladimir Troshin ('Podmoskovnye Vechera' on youtube if you are interested) went out of his way to make our stay that much easier. As I said, all the staff were great and got on with their respective duties efficiently and with a smile - the owners of this group of hotels would do well to hang on to what appears to be a splendid team remembering that a hotel is only as good as the staff that run the place.
Room's are modern, clean and airconditioned, the beds are very comfortable and definitely not from Ikea! They have a mini-bar which is well stocked and very reasonably priced, you will pay about the same as you would pay for a coke or beer if you were in a restaurant, can't remember exactly but I believe a large can of coke had a 10% markup on the local supermarket price therefore very reasonable.
All the public areas are clean and well cared for, well lit and safe, there is an adequate lift that goes to all floors or a wide staircase if you prefer..Breakfast, which has been criticised by other reviewers must have improved beyond measure as there is more than enough quality food on offer to suit even the most fussy eater. One slight criticism here is that the toaster provided is hopelessly inadequate being one of those cheap chinese things that only take 2 slices at a time and then proceeds to undercook them or reduce the slices to a cinder. A couple of 4 slot Dualit toasters would improve things no end and although more expensive will last a lifetime - even in a hotel!
We will, in future, only use Cosmo City Hotel when in Budapest for either business or pleasure as we are certain that it is the best in this range of hotel, it is centrally located but quiet, spotlessly clean, excellent value and whilst there might be better hotels in Budapest you would have to be very lucky to find any that ticks the boxes that Cosmo City does..
