“Great!”
Reviewed 18 March 2012

This was a great place to stay in Budapest, only about a 15-20 minute walk from the Keleti Pu train station. It really is not that hard to find at all if you are walking and you just follow the addresses on the buildings.

My room was clean, as was the bath and the sheets and towels. I was very impressed by how quiet it was, even though I was facing the street. It was within walking distance of restaurants, fast food, the metro and lots of great sites. I actually never even took the metro everything was so close.

The staff were great and spoke english. I was not able to check in early, but they did hold my bags for me so I could explore the city in the meantime.

I would definitely return!

I stayed here in Feb 2012 for 3 nights. I usually stay in hostel dorms, as I'm travelling alone and trying not to be too extravagant, but a single room here was cheap and they looked decent. I booked a double room, since it was only 1 or 2 euros more than the single (and I wasn't sure from booking.com whether the single rooms had single or double sized beds), and ended up getting a room with a double bed plus an extra single bed! The room was huge - heaps of space. There's a wardrobe in the room, with safe inside. Also a little entry area near the door, with coat hooks and space to leave boots, etc.

The double bed was actually 2 singles pushed together, but this wasn't an issue. The bed was comfy and warm. Pillow was a bit smaller than what I'm used to, but that seems to be standard in Eastern Europe.

Bathroom was clean. Shower was great - lovely hot water with good water pressure. You just have to be careful with adjusting the water temp, as moving the hot water knob even 1mm can suddenly make the water scalding hot.

Location was great - right next to a metro station, so very convenient. When coming out of the metro station, try to take the exit furthest to the left - you should come out right in front of the hotel. There is a Spar supermarket across the road. My room was towards the back of the building, away from the busy road, so I didn't have any problems with traffic noise. I could occasionally hear voices from other rooms and that high-pitched noise that showers sometimes make, but this was a minor complaint. With earplugs in, it was not a problem at all.

Staff are there 24hours and were very friendly and helpful.

I would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that does not face onto the busy street below, as this would probably be quite noi...

Excellent location (very close to the city center and all transportation), excellent value (very favorable price), excellent staff (responding to all of our needs), excellent room (modern and large, wifi and AC)! We were really satisfied with the service, and we would recommend it to everyone! It made our little weekend trip to Budapest a great memory.

the hotel is very conveniently located close to a metro station. finding the hotel is not that easy though.
the hotel has an old-world charm, with a central courtyard and rooms opening into it. the staff were very friendly and professional. during our stay, their credit card machine was out of order, but they had informed us of this well ahead of time. the room was nice and clean; the bed was comfortable. the bathroom was also clean. even though the hotel is in a very busy area, there was no noise inside the hotel premises.
the area surrounding the hotel was not very reassuring. the hotel building can be entered either with a card or by ringing the bell; and the room windows had strong iron bars, all of which reiterate the idea of the area not being so safe. nevertheless, we did not face any trouble whatsoever.
i would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Not for the faint hearted, The outside, is a door with a buzzer to gain access, not easy to find (next to Burger King) The rooms are very basic, but that's all you need, clean with tv, bed ok, warm room. The reception staff were so helpful, explaining the metro trams etc and what trips to go on. this is an ideal location to stay in as you right next to metro and trams, there are some nice places to have a bite to eat and drink nearby. Lots of amenities close bye. If you have travelled Europe and are not scared of big cities, go local, use the trams and Metro and enjoy the experience (get a metro ticket 72 hrs £10ish) Use it on buses, trams and metro bargain!
