While walking across the ever popular Vorosmarty Square named after the patriotic Hungarian poet of the same name to visit the hard rock cafe. We saw for the first time the ornate Lion Fountain (Oroszlános kút). This is not an old fountain as it was built in 1985 over the sight of a well, the architect László Wild was responsible for its construction and sculptor Agnes Peter created the four stone lions that spewed water into four basins. At the time of our passing it seemed to be a very popular place for the local birds to bath.
TIP: Good place to meet friends before heading off to explore more of the local area.
