I have been to over 75 countries and stayed at countless hotels, and Palazzo Zichy ranks easily in the top 5! Immaculate premises, superb lobby area with plenty of seating, great room for two people (good size, comfortable bed, stylish bathroom), quiet neighborhood yet 5-10 minutes from buses and metro stations, very responsive staff, delicious breakfast with a wide array of options.
We had a small incident toward the end of our stay there, as we had confirmed a 1:00pm late checkout the night before, only to be surprised by a phone call from the reception at 12:15pm telling us abruptly that we should vacate the room. After we checked out, guest service representative Rita apologized profusely to us and offered to order a taxi for us to the airport at the hotel's expense -- customer service at its best!
Some minor things that could be improved: 1) the shower area is half-open, and it's a bit difficult to shower without having water drip outside 2) in the breakfast area, the table that has the juices should be moved elsewhere because it creates congestion in the middle due to people squeezing fresh juices
Overall, an amazing hotel, and we would definitely stay there again if we visit Budapest in the future.More
