Amazing cathedral with all sorts of little alcoves around the interior with various tributes to saints, etc. Interesting history so take a tour if you can. There were many people praying when we went on a Saturday morning, so make sure kids can behave and be respectful. This cathedral is awe-inspiring, and helps tell the story of the Polish people.

Walked round the cathedral which was originally first one built in Poland. A visit to the crypt is a must as it shows potentially the baptismal font where reputably Mieszko 1 the first ruler of was baptised. And probably buried.

It was too full to enjoy during the Easter celebrations, but we went back again to get a proper look and it was well worth it. I like to see churches, but not for too long, but this one seemed to stand out as different. It has so many different elements inside, if you are interested in history, you could spend a long time going though the many parts of the church. It also plays an important role in the history of Poland, not just Poznan. I definitely recommend you see it! (don't miss the gold room, it is really extravegant)

The Tusmki Island would not be so beautiful without the Cathedral, maybe the most important in Poland and one of the most beautiful.
The two towers are like a city landmark and the interior looks so beautiful and ornated.
Unfortnately, I couldn't visit it for too long because a service started, so I would reccomend for everyone to check the service schedule before visiting.

The most stunning building on Ostrow Tumski (Cathedral Island) is certainly the Cathedral of St Peter & Paul. Built originally in 968 it has been rebuilt many times after being destroyed. It was almost destroyed again in 1945 when its gothic elements were exposed and then restored to what you see today. This is a truly beautiful church by any standards. With 12 different chapels the cathedral is a treasure trove of sacred and historical artefacts. Spend some time here and admire the beauty of the place. Catch the light through the stained glass windows. Visit the vestry to request entry to the crypt. For believers and non believers alike this church will not fail to impress.
