The Carskie Koszary is a comfortable older type Hotel about 2 kilometres from the Great Market Square in the lovely town of Zamosc.
I have to say that this Hotel was a bit difficult to rate as it was very good in some ways and not so good in others, so I will start with the negatives first of all.
The room I was in was small and "well worn" with not much space to sit down if you wanted to use a laptop, The bed was up against a radiator, so you either sweated or went cold. The air conditioner was difficult to operate. The power outlets were lacking and the shower head was faulty. The drainage outside the bedroom window leaked, so it sounded like sleeping next to a waterfall at times.
The good points were that the staff were exceptionally helpful and cheerful (they spoke perfect English) and the dining room was very nice. The breakfasts were good without being anything special (scrambled eggs done in a microwave aren't the best) and the price was good.
Zamosc is a very old historical place and I'd like to return some day, so I might consider the Carskie Koszary (mainly because of the staff) but it would have to improve the overall standard for it to happen.More
