Poleski National Park (PNP) is the park with the lowest number of visitors in Poland. Therefore we did not expect great infrastructure or something spectacular. We were wrong. We visited many National Parks in Poland, but Poleski Park has one of the best infrastructure ever. All hiking trails are well marked, plenty of place to rest, clean toilets, car’s parkings etc. Nature is amazing especially if you like birdwatching or just relax. We were in May and we did not meet many other tourists on some trails, so only you and amazing nature. Staff in PNP Center is very friendly and helpful – we recommend to visit if you want to see for instance turtles. PNP is also great for families. We were there with our two 7 years old girls, which did not claim about trips because most of trails are 3-6km long. You can find many lakes around and place to bike. It’s like Biebrzanski Park Narodowy, but in addition you have forest places as well. Highly recommended and one of our discovery high on top picks in Poland for nature sights.

Unspoilt Poland... A great place to walk with a child in a pram or to go cycling. Nothing to write home about but it's a very rlaxing place with some fantastic nature.

The excursion to the Poleski national park was organized as a day trip during the conference in Lublin. It was raining all day long, but with a rain cape the experience was really great. Peat bogs, cranes, boreal plant species are just some things worth mentioning. The park is almost at the border with Ukraine and it takes about 1 hour to get there by car. The national park is a part of biosphere reserve (designated by UNESCO in 2002) and it is definitely worh seeing. There are several walking trails and you should probably plan a whole day and keep in mind appropriate clothes and boots in case of bed weather. There is a cultural center and museum in the village near the park (Załucze Stare).
