The apartment was as described and we had a wonderful stay in Zakopane. Situated in a peaceful location but just a brisk stroll (25 mins) or a short (frequent) bus ride from the bustling town centre, it suited our needs down to the ground. The local restaurants served huge portions of excellent regional food at unbelievably low prices. There are a number of good local shops and bakeries. The High Tatras are stunning with some excellent well marked walking trails, although you need to be a reasonably fit walker to cope with the steep slopes. My wife was lucky enough to see a bear from the cable car. I would recommend the apartment and area to anyone. Bus transfer from Kraków is both cheap and easy.
We have just returned from a stay at the gorgeous Apartment Cytryn in Zakopane - and oh my goodness what a brilliant place.
The apartment has everything you would need and more, with a stylish modern interior, all spotlessly clean and very well cared for. The kitchen has a table for 4 people.....the lounge corner sofa is massive......the shower has power!......the balcony is one you need a stash of cold beer for (or plenty of coffee if its breakfast time) as the view is just breath taking and you might be there a good long while! Just make sure you pop to the top of the lane for some fresh pastries & bread for your balcony breakfast too! What a handy shop..
We had the deepest (darkest) nights slumber as there are electric roller shutters on the windows, operated from the inside, which block out any moonlight or morning sun. And we didn’t hear a sound all night. So incredibly peaceful. There is obviously a lot of thought that has gone into the apartment and it shows. We didn’t have our children with us on this occasion – but it is clearly great & safe for kids too (travel cot, toys and highchair tucked away incase required). Tons of outside wild space just waiting to be explored.
The apartment is ideal in its location. The surroundings are stunning, with pistachio coloured houses, beautiful wooden rooftops and the snow dusted mountains. So quiet you can hear a pin drop – but civilisation is just a short walk away. We hopped on a (very frequent) little bus which took us to Zakopane town. A lively, clean and welcoming town with an abundance of restaurants, cafes, bars and cute shops. With a main pedestrianized street leading down the hill, its easy to wander along from restaurant to café to bar…..and then start all over again!
Our airport transfer was arranged through the apartment booking and the loveliest chap collected us and drove us back to civilisation. Safely deposited back at the airport we felt so refreshed and reinvigorated after our gorgeous mountain stay. All in all a fantastic place – from start to finish!
