The placement is ideal, very close to the market place. Easy to find with big and clean rooms. Nice continental braekfast in the basement. Helpfull people in the office on the first floor. I will definitely recommend NordicHouse and stay her again.

Location location location! Step out the front door, turn left and within 2 minutes, if you walk slow, you are in old town main square. We flew into Krakow and left via train. It took us approximately 15 minutes with luggage to walk to the station.

The room is enormous for European standards and offered a modern shower and w/c. It can get noisy of an evening however it did not bother us and we anticipated this could be a possibility given the central location. However if you are a troubled sleeper it may not be suitable.

Hotel staff were fantastic! Very friendly, knowledgable and willing to help us with our questions.

The apartments are located above the office. It is not very well signed where to find the office for check in. There are no lifts. You walk up to the second floor to find the offices for some consulates and this is where you check in.perhaps the hotel could also add a sign "Nordic Apartments" as this will save you going to the top floors then back down and up as we did!

I would stay there again without hesitation.

Having had time to reflect on our stay, the overall experience was excellent. Some issues mentioned by earlier posters have been rectified: our room did have a hairdryer, kettle, fridge and some coffee, tea, mini-pots of milk and sugar. Collection of keys from Sushi 77 was exactly as described with this small restaurant located immediately to the left of the entrance. I couldn't see it on Google street-view, but it's there!
As others have observed, the location couldn't be bettered. Our room was at the back, so no view, which didn't worry us, and some noise both late night and early morning with bottles being cleared by the nearby restaurant. It was stifling hot with the window shut, but the noise disturbed us otherwise.
Breakfast is in the deep basement. With only 6 rooms, it's not surprising that it's served directly to the table with fresh coffee or tea. Different breads were served and were delicious. Eggs were cooked to order, and there was plentiful cheese and ham.
The room itself was much as the pictures shown on different websites. It was not cleaned daily, but on one day the bed was made, on another the bin was emptied.
The 2 negative aspects relate to safety. The stair rail is very loose at the bottom. You could not rely on it to support you on the way up the many stairs. The locks, particularly from the landing, were a major concern, with no immediate release in case of fire. A fiddly key was required and with the steel plating round the door, a quick escape would be impossible.
This is not suitable for a family stay or for less mobile guests because of the significant and steep stairs.
Staff at the Consulate were friendly and most helpful. Ask them to organise your taxi at a cheaper rate than generally stated. I have rated service as 5, because what is offered is done to an excellent standard. If you require room service etc. you need to choose that type of hotel and pay accordingly.
Overall, it would be hard to beat this accommodation for value, space and location. If you are expecting more, you have not researched the accommodation carefully.

Room Tip: Rooms are only on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

We returned from Poland last weekend. The Nordic House apartments are in a fantastic location, just off the main square but in a quiet street offering good value for money. The room were huge and very comfortable, an excellent bathroom with a large shower and plenty of hot water. The only downside would be that the apartments are on the 2nd floor and there is no lift, so not suitable for anybody with mobility or breathing difficulties. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the security was good. Breakfast was plentiful consisting of fruit juice and tea or coffee, yoghurt, rolls with ham and cheese and a boiled egg. It definitely set you up for the day; we were not getting too hungry until about 4pm. There is also a very nice restaurant next door, a proper restaurant downstairs and a kind of salad bar at ground level. Both were good but the salad bar was excellent and very reasonable in price.

There is plenty to see and do with lots of restaurants and cafes in the close vicinity. We picked up a free walking tour on day one to get our bearings and pick up general information. We'd already planned to do Auschwitz-Birkenau, the salt mines and Schindlers Museum but we added to that the museum under the main square, which we knew nothing about until the walking tour. This was very interesting and interactive which made understanding it very easy if you speak English or Polish. As a group of four (two couples) we found it cheaper to arrange our tours by taxi but there are plenty of places where you can book tours or ask the hotel staff to do it for you. They also have deals with some of the restaurants and if they book your table for you you'll get a free drink or similar included in the price.

Overall Poland still offers good value for money generally and I thought the Nordic Apartments were great.

Nordic House Apartments are, literally, less than one hundred metres from the very centre of Krakow, yet the neighbourhood was very quiet. There are many excellent cafés and restaurants in the streets around the Market Square (Rynek Glowny).
The apartment was basically furnished, but by no means shabby; plenty of hot water in a superb modern bathroom. The main room has a writing desk, wardrobe, armchairs, TV and, of course, a bed - which was very comfortable. Well heated and with a small balcony, the room gave the basic comforts at a very reasonable cost.
If there is a downside it is that the apartment is on the second floor and there is no elevator. An ample breakfast is served in the basement so it is advisable to get ready for going out before coming down in the mornings. It will save your legs!
All in all, well worth thinking about.
