If you're going to visit Auschwitz (and everyone should in my opinion!)then this is easily the most convenient place to stay, being directly opposite the main gates. My only quibble is with teh arrangements for breakfast. If you want anything cooked, you have to ask for it at the kitchen hatch otherwise it's just the standard continental fare. The problem is this isn't made clear at all so some people miss out on it. Also the two mornings we were there, only one member of staff had to cook, clear tables, refill bread/cereals etc, answer queries etc - which was woefully inadequate. Particulary on day 1 when a poor lady had to cope with a coach party on her own! Result - when we arrived just after the coach party left, it looked like a bomb had hit the place and the poor frazzled waitress/cook/cleaner was trying manfully (womanfully?) to cope with the aftermath. She had been badly let down by the management who should have known that 1 person could not possibly deal with so many customers all at the same time.
