The best part of going to Gdańsk, I learnt so much about WW2. In school we are only taught the German and English side of things and never the Polish side of things, as horrific as it was, it was very interesting with s lot of items belonging to the Polish who were persecuted. We spent about 3 hours there, but we could have stayed longer (we didn’t because we were shattered after a 5 hour plane delay and journey). Honestly the only thing worth visiting in Gdańsk.

This is museum worth a visit if you are interested in second world war. The exhibitions is large and many and i recommend least a half day to get trough all. The museum is large and spaceous so larger groups can visit without problems.

The building is amazing first off. It is a glass building but you go underground like a bunker to the exhibition. It is very well laid out and very interesting. The cost is minimal but you pay a little extra for the audio guide. This is my only gripe , not because I paid extra but because there was so much background noise that it was very hard to hear the audio guide. This was because not everybody used the audio which really should be included. There were some very interesting films etc but it would have been better to just be able to watch those but hear them through the audio instead of having them on in the background.

I’ve been travelling around Europe for quite a few months now and found this museum to be one of the most informative on the subject. There was a large focus on the buildup and how the war started and also on post war rebuilding. Some very good audio visual exhibits and some very interesting artefacts also. Overall a very worthwhile visit.
