Beach in Hel is not the best I have seen, sand is not as white and water is not as clear as for example in Sopot, but it is definitely worth to visit. In combination with walking from downtown through the forest it was a nice experience and a chance to see another face of Baltic nature.

Visited the town by a 50 minute train journey from Puck which gave us a chance to see the scenery from an elevated position. On arrival we walked through the well signposted woods to the very sandy big beach and returned to town on a buggy that was advertising trips to WW2 installations as Hel had a prominent military history. The town itself also has a good beach and a pretty harbour.Numerous pubs and street cafes to watch the world go by as well as the usual tourist shops. You got to buy a fridge magnet with HEL on!!
We paid a 10 minute visit to the focarium which was enough time but at only 5zl the money was going to a good cause. The town was relatively busy when we visited with not everything opened up but would imagine in the Summer months it will be heaving.

Hel peninsula is beautiful and offers a lot of attractions for the whole family. Beautiful small town offers a little bit of everything for all. The beaches are clean and nice, lots of beautiful spots for pictures and fun events for all. Lots of great food options too!
One bad thing is the traffic jams. There is only 1 road in and out so if there is an accident the traffic stops.
Still highly recommended!

We went by a tour boat from Gdynia to Hel and enjoyed the ride and Hel itself. Despite the heavy rain we had fun and walked through little town with many Interesting sites. Visiting fokarium and watching seals being fed was the highlight of our trip. Great place and worth seeing it. You can also rent bikes and ride on Hel.

A small, cosy holiday resort at the end of Poland. Beautiful beaches. Also a unique occasion for the fans of the WWII, as lots of old ruins from that time still to discover.
