Really great presentation of the region's rich coal mining history.
The first part of the two-hour tour involves looking at a great collection of old mine safety equipment. The second part takes you down into an old mine, where they demonstrate actual mining equipment used.
Our guide for the mine part was fantastic! Didn't speak a word of English (fair enough, especially in this less visited part of the CZ), but engaged us nonetheless, pointing at things, showing with his hands and so on. They rent audio guides in various languages for non-Czech speakers, which is a great idea. Unfortunately there are a few hiccups though - for one of us, it was playing the mine part during the mine safety exhibition, and I had to skip through various languages at each stop on mine. The audio guide also doesn't give nearly the level of detail as the actual guides do. Nonetheless, a great idea for dealing with foreign visitors.
Also notable that they have a great collection of equipment (trucks, etc.) outdoors too, and may even have a small train for children in the summer (?). Unfortunately too cold when we visited to enjoy the outdoor component.
Really well done and worth a visit!
