The State Opera was most definitely the highlight of our trip to Prague. We went to the performance of "Rigoletto". This was the first opera we have seen and have to say that it was spell-binding!. The hall is visually stunning and evokes memories of a by-gone age. You are captivated from the moment the lights go down and the conductor strikes up the orchestra. You finally realize what opera is. The music, the singing, the costumes, the stage, the story - Opera is the complete package. It is addictive and leaves you wanting more. We wanted to go again the following night. The tickets were so reasonable, approx. 30 euro each for the center of the first balcony. I strongly recommend a night at the State Opera during a visit to Prague. You will never forget it.
