“Fantastic Old Town Hotel”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

Just had a 3 night stay at the Savic Hotel in Prague. Can't praise it enough. Excellent hotel, superb location for the Old Town less than two minutes from the square. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and good food

On arrival we were given a street map of the city and all the sights and attractions of the city were pointed out and marked on the map for us, we were given information on using the trams to get around.. We were then given a complimentary drink, Excellent beer!!! and shown to our room.

The room was terrific. Massive comfy bed, temperature controlled air conditioning and a spotlessly clean en-suite bathroom. Tea and coffee is provided free as is the TV which included BBC World. The mini bar is available, as is pay TV (movies etc) We chose not to use these.

The breakfast is really hearty, the usual continental fair is on offer but also bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms and fried potatoes. They'll even make you an omlette if you ask.

Stayed at the Savic for my wife's birthday in January 2012. The staff were very nice, the room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable. We would love to return in the near future.

The Wife and I have just had a magical weekend at the Savic Hotel in Prague.

We were made very welcome, had a very nice room (room 102) and really felt really comfortable and at ease there.

The staff were excellent, very proffessional and polite (nice touch to be given a welcome drink when checking in).

We asked for recommendations for restaurants at reception and were blown away by the 2 meals we had (especially the U Modre Kachnicky, a truely memorable experience), even if the 2nd one was a touch expensive (Henry's Tower).

The hotel was right in the centre of everything including 3 mins walk to the Old Town Square & Astronomical Clock.

If we were pushed on a negative I would say is that the lounge area could do with sofas to make it a bit more comfy but that is being a touch OTT?

Would recommend this to everyone as a nice above average hotel, well worthy of booking.

Room Tip: Room 102 was very nice although has twin beds, but very comfortable.

Just returned from a mid-week trip to Prague and were simply blown away by this hotel.

The first thing that MUST be mentioned is the excellent staff and their manner. Informal but incredibly professional, they really made the trip extra special. Our special thanks to Lenka Šínová for going above and beyond our expectations.

Second is the location. You're very lucky if you can find a better located, quality hotel for this price ANYWHERE in Prague. You're literally seconds away from the Town Square. Seconds away from anything you need.

Thirdly, the room. WOW! The pictures online do not do these rooms justice. We were upgraded as it was one of ours birthday. For free! The staff were kind enough to do this as a surprise to us. The room was simply outstanding. I've stayed in 5 star hotels in Moscow and St Petersburg, two of the most expensive cities in the world and the Savic Hotel comes close and often surpassed these.

I booked excursions and transfers through the hotel. It would have been cheaper to book them elsewhere perhaps but the hotel staff were just too good not to use. It was easy and simple.

On the whole a fantastic experience that we would recommend to anyone. We will definitely be returning.

We chose this hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. It is in a brilliant location just off the town square and close to the Charles Bridge. We were in room 401 and the only real niggle was that as it was up in the eaves we only had two tiny windows which made the room quite dark during the day. Having said that we were out most of the time so it didn't really matter. Another small point is that anyone really tall would probably not be able to fit in the shower due to the slope of the roof!

It was though, a really delightful quirky room full of exposed beams, plenty of space, L'Occitane toiletries and a proper full size hairdryer. It also had an iPod dock and Nespresso machine as well as kettle etc. I would suggest taking ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and need to keep windows open (room is incredibly warm) as there was some street noise. This could not be heard when the windows were closed.

Breakfast was served until 10am and the food was always being replenished. There was plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and a chef who cooked your eggs to order.

The girls on reception were really helpful and one suggested a wonderful restaurant for our wedding anniversary and also booked a table for us. We also booked and paid for a walking tour via reception which saved us having to take extra money out with us.

It really is a lovely little hotel with a unique feel to it, perfectly located and one I would definitely stay in again.

Room Tip: The lift only goes up to the third floor.
