Our entire stay here was prefect from beginning to end. They cleaned the room, gave you breakfast, and were pleasant. This was a breeze to get to and from the Old Town Square on the 9 Tram. Nothing looked old and it did look like the hotel was renovated fairly recently. My only tip would be to maybe have more substantial pillows, but that's just me. Internet was sometimes hard to connect in the rooms. Overall a great budget hotel.

Room Tip: Book in advance.

Was a short walk away from the main part of Prague. The accomodation was your own little apartment which was very clean and generally very nice.
Breakfast consisted of bread, jam and coffee and was brought to your room every morning.
It's only a small family run business and we arrive quite late and were knocking for about 20 minutes. People were hanging around inside quite late at night, presumably friends of the owners daughter. Whilst they didn't cause any trouble, it wasn't very professional. For what we paid, overall a good hotel.

A group of 4 of us booked this Residence for 3 nights from 15th Feb. 2011 and we were allocated the Alba room which was on the first floor up a flight of steps which was not suitable for disabled access (which did not effect us). The apartment was clean and tidy and consisted of a large open plan sitting room with kitchen diner. Two bedrooms. One with a double bed and the other with a double and single bed. There was a separate bathroom with a clean shower cubicle. The mini bar was a large fridge stocked with reasonably priced beers and soft drinks. Breakfast was delivered to the room in the morning (up to 10.30am) and consisted of coffee, pastries, bread/butter jam. The room was fitted with it's own wireless router for perfect internet reception which was free. Staff were helpful and friendly. Cost was €40 a night which worked out for us at €10 per person. Metro stop was 200 metre's away so a perfect location to get straight into the City Centre. We would recommend this location as a cheap, no frills, place to stay.

Our stay at Residence Casa Italia was overall not very positive. This was mainly due to the language barrier that existed between us and the staff. The staff can barely speak english and due to this we were unable to express our concerns and get anything fixed. The apartment itself looks very nice, however there is no attention to detail at all. Even though there is a sink to clean your dishes with, there is no towel to dry your dishes with. Even though the bathroom is nice and shiny, the it smelt like mold (due to no ventilation, its only a matter of time) and the tap looks nice but leaks all day and night. The bedroom is on accessible by a ladder, which is very high up and not suitable for anyone with any back/knee problems. The roof is so low that you must crouch where walking around the bed and many times during the night we hit our head forgetting this. We requested a double bed but instead got two single beds put together. This is fine, however the beds themselves are very unsteady and move during the night and end up being far apart in the morning (warning lovers, would not recommend this bed lol). The internet connection did not work in our room, and any requests to get this fixed were ignored. We were told to go into the reception to use the net, however it is only open at certain times, often locked and is actually the families living room, therefore would be rather awkward to be sitting in there with them while they are all eating tea... This resulted in us sitting outside in the freezing cold, on the steps trying to use the internet. The breakfast also was very disappointing. It was all just sugar, and some days had barely anything in it. We ended up just getting our own. Lastly, there was a broken glass panel on the door into the hall way which was not covered and very dangerous. And, the walls are very very thin so you can hear EVERYTHING that is happening in the next room. Overall I would not recommend this hotel.

The staff are fabulous and very helpful. The room itself was large and spacious, a gorgeously decorated apartment more than worth the money I spent for the two nights I stayed here. They offer a breakfast in the mornings for about three euros. The kitchen came stocked with a good amount of bottled beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as well as some meal and snack type items that you were allowed to consume for a meager price. Location-wise, it was a great place to stay. It's near the Metro, there are bus/tram lines that run nearby, and with a handy city map it is easy to figure out where to go for Prague's main attractions.
