Very good hotel, very clean, quiet, good staff, good breakfast. I was very happy to stay here. The rooms are a good size, the bed is comfortable. It's only a few minutes by tram. There is a supermarket opposite. There is a lot to recommend this hotel. The price is excellent as well. For what you pay you get very good value for money. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Buy a 24 hour ticket for the tram / metro - to be safe. I was stopped a couple of times by inspector...

Just came back from city break in Prague - with my wife and a pair of friends we stayed in hotel Carlton Prague. Just few comments:
- location: good. Hotel is located with Zizkov district, which has many advantages - gives more complete view of Prague, it has many restaurants where prices and service are really good (in oposition to old town), has good tram connection to city center (4 stops to Wenceslas Square), tram stop - 200 meters from hotel; disadvantage - close neibouhood is not quite the Prague which we all know from postcards
- hotel - good 3 stars, quite spacious room, we had rooms with a view to very tranquil street so it was quiet (so avoid the building wing looking to the street with trams); nice, well renovated historic building;
- breakfast - definately not 4 stars, eggs, sausages and beans (who likes beans for breakfast?!) were dripping with fat, rest was quite monotonous
- prices - we stayed 3 nights (thu - sun) for 117 EUR / room (2 persons) with breakfast; so there was nothing to complain about.
- service - friendly people, all OK
have a nice stay!

We caught the train from Berlin into Prague Central Station, we then caught the Metro/Underground (Red Line) from XXXX to XXXX.
The Carlton Hotel is around 10-15 mins walk from XXXX Metro Station. We walked it with a heavy back pack and a ruck sack each and it wasn’t too bad!
Upon arrival at the hotel, I was glad to find that the hotel seemed quite nice, I found the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful and we were quickly checked in.
The room was very good, it was clean, very big with high ceilings, the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and it was well equipped with tea and coffee facilities, a wide range of TV channels and a small desk.
There was no wifi in the room, but there was free wifi and a computer in the lobby of the hotel.
The only negatives I could really find with the room were; if you opened the widow (on our room at least) it was pretty noisy (a tram line runs right past the hotel- I think it’s the number 9 tram) and there was no proper shower in the bathroom, just a shower head that you hold.
There is a supermarket just across the street from the hotel, we tended to buy food from there rather than eat out on the evenings. However, the hotel staff were happy to recommend places near the hotel and said that there are a few good places to eat nearby.
The breakfast each morning was fantastic, a good range of food and drink was served including: sausage, eggs, beans, cereal, fruit, juices, tea and coffee. We were really impressed with breakfast.
While we were there it was really nice weather, so we always walked into the centre of Prague each day, it took us between 20 to 30 mins and it was quite a nice walk. However, there is a tram stop pretty much outside the hotel and the metro station is only about 5-10 mins away so if you didn’t want to walk or the weather is lousy then there are plenty of options.
All in all, a good hotel, clean, well equipped rooms and friendly staff. I would recommend staying here if you’re not bothered about a bit of walk or using public transport to get into the centre of Prague.

Room Tip: erm, dont have any tips as such

A little outside the main part of Prague, this hotel was very welcoming and clean. Right off the tram and easy to get too. Our room was a little noisy as it was across from the elevator and we could hear street traffic and the tram running but it wasn't too bad. Room was very clean and bathroom was very large for European standards. Actually took a bath!!! Breakfast was good, but the same each day with no variety as we had it 3 days straight. The tram right out the hotel door made it easy to get to the central area. Staff was very helpful in suggesting great local places to eat!

Room Tip: It's on a corner so ask for rooms in the back which might be quieter.

A very nice hotel with a very friendly and helpfull staff. Public transport stops at about 250 m distance and runs all night long. We enjoyed our stay very much, nice spacy rooms, clean and well looking.
For breakfast there was a buffet with all kinds of food (english, continental), it was all there and fresh. In the evening we enjoyed a few times the cosy bar. It was not so busy due to te season.
We can recommend this hotel for a nice stay in Prague.
Defenitely we will come again.
