My friends and I really enjoyed our visit to this gallery. I liked the sculptures especially by Rodin and all the works by the French Impressionists. The Czech art was really good too. There's a lot of space and a lot to see. Allow a lot of time. There's a good cafe too and reductions for seniors. Highly recommended if you like art.

This is a local recommendation that holds a very extensive collection of Czech artists. It it extremely large and like a ghost town. The displays of art were boring and the art itself was made with many dark colors for the most part. We spent two hrs since we paid and couldn't wait to leave. If the museum with its numerous guards or docents added interesting facts/ tours it might be more enjoyable. As it was, we could not wait to get out of there even though they had a little of some great artist but not great works.

We defy anyone to see everything in this massive gallery in one day. We spent 5 hours and still only saw part of it. Four floors of permanent exhibition plus lots of temporary exhibits. The Czexh art to 1930 was fascinating, introducing us to some superb Czech artists we were not familiar with. The French section featured a veritable roll call of every major French artist from the late 19thbto early 20th century- Rodin, Cezanne , Monet - too long a list for a review. And excellent works by Klimt, Schiele, Munch etc. A very moving Ai Wei Wei installation about the plight of refugees in Northern Greece. Overall, a world class galley, and a must see for art lovers.

I love art museums and have been to Prague many times. But this time i tried something off the beaten path and so glad i did. If you are an art lover , you will be totally. Alone in this museum..which i so different from being in a Louvre, Musee D"orsay. Etc.....great depiction .. Picasso, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Joan Miro, Seurat, the exhibition on the refuges was not to be missed. Just a really cool way to spend a day in Prague if you are an art lover.. .totally recommend it.

Veletržní palác is perhaps not for everyone. I went to art school once and I love to see how the visual arts can be explored in many ways.
The Veletržní palác can not be a better example of this.
First it is off the beaten path and it is housed in a modern building to get you out of the gothic and beau arts you are walking around during your stay. We went in the morning expecting to spend a couple hours and closed the place!
It encompasses so much on each floor that perhaps two trips could be considered?
Each floor has an era or theme and you will see as an example a beautiful Red Skoda as well as works by impressionist and all your favorites. Most importantly there is the chance to embrace the deep work by so many great Czech artists.
There was a David Bowie exhibit and some huge works to haunt your visual cortex.
One of our best days in Prague.
