At the end of June 2017, I spent six days in the Hotel Astoria in Prague, Czech Republic. I attended an international conference and a lot of time I was out of the Hotel. Location of the Hotel is great, close to the Namesti Republiky with metro station and tram. It is in a small quiet street, very close to the Powder Tower and in walking distances to the Old Town Square, Prague Astronomical Clock, Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge. Staff is excellent, friendly and ready to help at any moment. Breakfast is very good with a lot of choices of food for everyone. Room was nice, very clean, not so big, but had a small balcony and a view to the street. Behind the Hotel there is a nice department store. I would like to stay in that hotel again. So, I can strongly recommend it to all tourists which plan to visit Golden Prague.

2nd time to this hotel. Petra the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. It was my hubby's 50th and I emailed in advance for a room overlooking the clock on the 6th floor as we had stayed on that level before. To our surprise us was the same room 602 which we were very pleased about. On arrival in our room was a bottle of champagne , candles etc as I had emailed ahead requesting something special and we were not disappointed . Would definitely stay her again. We also had breakfast delivered to our room every morning which was always on time and way too much but lovely.

Room Tip: As for 6 or above floor

This hotel is in a fantastic location 2mins walk from the main square. You are surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars.

The check in was very friendly and efficient. There are 2 lifts, an older style one and a modern one (which made scary creaky noises). We were ok the 6th floor and had no noise problems from people on the road outside. The rooms were a good size including a small table and chairs.

My main criticism would be the bathroom was very basic. The toilet seat was clearly very cheap plastic, basic toilet paper and the shower over the bath leaked slightly.

The breakfast had a good selection. There was fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cold meats and cheeses, bread and pastry plus a selection of hot food that varied slightly each day.

Stayed in this hotel with family group of 30. The staff was wonderful, accommodating and helpful. Location was great.

the bathrooms were ridiculous.
The bath/shower has a half door (really). Water sprays onto the rim of the tub and flows right down to the floor.
The tub is high off the floor. Getting in is difficult. Getting out is dangerous. some of the towels were very old, scratchy and belong in the rag pile.

Elevators are small and challenging.
