I lived in the Hotel Olsanka with my family, during a 10 days holiday, in August 2016. We all enjoyed very much our stay there, as well as the good deal of low prices.
MAIN STRENGTHS: 1.The hotel is located at only 10 minutes by tram from the Prague’s center (tram stations are situated in the front of hotel). 2.The hotel reception desk officers were very kind, helpful and efficient, speaking many languages and helping us to interract quickly with local agencies.3.Our rooms were on the sixth floor, cleaned every day, spacious and well equipped (with very good beds, windows, TV set, telephone and bathroom). 4.Swimming pool of the neighbouring Sport Center was enough deep and clean, as well as well equiped and managed – representing an important and attractive asset of this hotel.5.Security systems in rooms and elevators were opperational and effective.
MAIN WEAKNESSES: 1.Food and drinks offered during breakfasts – in the hotel’s breakfast room - were not very attractive, good tasting and diversified being quite the same during all 10 days. 2.Meals offered for breakfast were not labelled on desks in order to inform consumers (at least about their names and ingredients). 3.Food and drinks shortages were not always promptly solved by servicing people inside the breakfast room 4.Wi-Fi access within the hotel was free but not always obtainable (despite the high strength of the signal, my laptop provided me quite every evening/ night the message „your connection has limited or no connectivity”) !
The so-called old „socialist look” of this bih hotel is mainly generated - in our view - by the old-fashioned or badly maintained appearence of some common spaces (mainly corridors), the existing of old loudspeakers (mounted on walls in rooms and on corridors which are, may be, still operational for alarming or informing aims), the lack of air conditionners and refrigerators in rooms, etc. But having in view the low prices offered by this hotel, all these details could be accepted…
