“A great decision to stay here”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

The room (more a suite) was excellent, spacious and clean, the staff most helpful and obliging. The location is another winner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel based on amenities, location, staff, free wifi, breakfast in the adjoining restaurant, and cost. We were asked if we would mind an upgrade for our last night, which we 'reluctantly' accepted, and we're given a bottle of wine and a fruit platter for the 'inconvenience'. That's what you call good service. The staff were most efficient and helpful; full marks to Pod Vezi! We ate twice at Pod Vezi restaurant for dinner; after a day sightseeing, we couldn't be bothered looking further afield; we enjoyed our meals here very much, excellent and attentive staff.

Just got back from Prague and stayed at the pod vezi. Amazing little hotel, right in the hustle bustle but behind the main street making it perfect for being away from the noise but right by it.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was generous and tasty. We thought it was incredible value for money and will return when we return to Prague.
Only slight suggestion i would make would be to put more plug sockets in the room and to use bigger curtains but these points certainly haven't put me off.
If you're thinking of booking i don't think you'll be disappointed.
Loved the outdoor terrace at the front of the hotel to sit and have breakfast, was so nice watching the tourists of Prague go by.
There is a terrace on the top of the hotel which is nice in the evening.
Food portions were very generous as we discovered when my toddlers child portion of food came through.
Wifi in the hotel.
Lovely gifts of chocolate, biscuits and fruit in the rooms on arrival and occasionally in the evening.
Already looking forward to going back. :-)

This is a great hotel, tucked into a side square right by the west bank of the Charles Bridge. We walked past it the first time, so it's away from the tourist scrum you get round there (of which we're one). Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast and a computer to get on the web right by the front desk. Rooms are comfortable and the hotel is in a great old building.

Hotel was excellent - really friendly welcome from reception with a selection of helpful leaflets handed to us. Actually we took the taxi arranged by the hotel and the old boy driving the taxi was also very informative despite limited English (recommend this - only took us 20 mins from the airport and cost €25. We had a deluxe room which was really spacious (albeit with a slightly disappointing view of the inner courtyard but we were barely in the room). Really liked the large bathroom too. Only gripe with the room was the air conditioning which was a little ineffective. With only 1 window into the lounge area it sometimes made the room a bit stuffy. Still the room was very comfortable and had free wifi too.

Reception continued to be helpful throughout our stay - you can get everything from them including tram tickets and stamps. They also arranged an evening cruise for us (bit disappointing but not their fault). Nothing was too much trouble and you really don't get that in many hotels these days..

The location was fantastic too - just below the castle at the end of the Charles Bridge. We loved having breakfast out doors in the front of the hotel each morning. Breakfasts were really nice. We had lunch the day we arrived which was great and with a discount because we were hotel guests. There is a really handy supermarket nearby too.

Overall, a superb little hotel. Would go back there if in Prague again.

This was one of my best hotel experiences to date. To start with the position couldn’t be more central. You literally stride off the Charles bridge and into the hotel, which from the outside is a very beautiful old building (can we really be staying inside?) with a stylish outdoor cafe beneath (perfect for breakfast). You immediately understand why this hotel is 7th most popular on Trip Advisor without having all the spa facilities, etc of more modern 5 star hotels. Aside from the location and beautiful old building, the rooms were special, with decorated ceilings and were unusually spacious. The small family of staff were very helpful, friendly, fun and eager to please, and made concert bookings in beautiful old palaces in anticipation of our arrival. They also thought to organize a taxi service to/from the airport, provide (good) free wifi in the rooms (unusual in Prague) and even helped us print our return airtickets immediately without any charge – this took the hassle out of all the usual little things. What I personally loved most however, was the surprise presents of food in the room upon our return on some of the evenings (beautiful plates of fruit, or little packets of biscuits and chocolates). They also have a wonderful crepe shop just around the corner and the rest of the building is soon also to be converted into a second hotel, so watch this space…

Room Tip: We used Booking.com for a very large spacious room with a beautiful decorated ceiling at oustanding...
