“Fantastic location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2012

We were very pleasantly surprised at this beautiful hotel, it was modern, clean and ideally located close to all attractions. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous and if you have it around 10 a.m you can certainly skip lunch. We drove in from Munich and parked our car at the hotel's underground garage and used local transport for getting around as streets of Prague are narrow and confusing. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel also provides limo service to nearby attractions and restaurants.
We plan on staying at their property in Barcelona next year.

Room Tip: Our room faced the street and was nice and bright.

We had a fabulous three night stay in this beautiful hotel, more five star than four star. Polite, helpful and friendly staff, spotlessy clean and modern room which was very comfortable, sumptuous and delicious breakfast. Free wifi and internet. Only 10-12 mins walk from old town. Staff helped us to book sightseeing trips and taxi back to airport, nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the hotel bistro on the last night, reasonably priced and very tasty. We would highly recommend this hotel for a city break.

stayed for 3 nights with my partner and had a very courteous reception. Given a quiet room at back of hotel (418) and had no noise from the only room next door. OK the room was not the biggest I've stayed in but when you are only paying just under £70 per night for B&B I am not going to grumble especially as it was extremely clean. Pillows not to our taste but we made use of cushions to firm up the feather pillows. Oh and Air Con that worked and was adjustable!
Breakfast was very good. There was a basic hot bar (scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes), plenty of cold meats and cheese, bread of several varieties, 6 or 7 types of cereals, fruits to make a fruit salad together with other fresh fruits (melons of varying type and oranges etc), various cakes and pastries and, for those that wanted, Czech bubbly!
The street does have two bars where ladies take their clothes off and my partner and I were asked on more than one occasion whether we wanted to see any but the hawkers do not pester you if you say no or just ignore them and walk firmly away. We did notice a police presence a few times and the hotel is in a street off Wenceslas Square, a major tourist attraction, so the likelihood of there being any real trouble is fairly minimal.
Close to Muzeum Metro station and the top end of Wenceslas Square so handy for shops and transport , if you don't feel like walking, to the historic town centre.
A very good hotel with friendly staff (I've always found that a smile and a thank you to the staff brings an immediate positive response). Would have no hesitation in staying there again

Room Tip: 418 was a corner room at the back with emergency exit on the other side of bed head and one other ro...

I was pleasantly surprised when arriving at K&K Fenix the front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating and the room whilst very small, was fine for three adults for five nights. Additionally, we were very pleased that wifi was provided free throughout the entire hotel.
It was only when we inspected the Gym facilities that the negatives began to reveal themselves - the room was tiny, hot and had very few pieces of equipment, no where near what would pass for a gym in comparable hotels. But, we made the best of it.
When I went to check opening hours for some historic sites the wifi issue presented itself - I could not access it with my mobile phone OR laptop... I tried several times over an hour before asking reception. They informed me that I couldn't access it because our room was at the far end of the hall and wifi connection was centered around the lifts. So I had to trudge downstairs daily with my computer and charger to work... Oh well, one of those things.
The two worst things about the place (which is not bad overall) were the location and the breakfast and its staff.
The location is very close to town in the vicinity of heaps of shops and restaurants, a very pleasurable walk to most sites, BUT, it is located on the main stripper (called 'cabaret' in Prague) street in the city. So for three women was not too nice to walk past - due to both the nature of the neighboring establishments, but also the irritating collection of sleazy men, 'cabaret' spruikers, what appeared to be drug dealers and groups of men entering of leaving. Not recommended for anyone who would consider this unappealing.
The breakfast was not on par with similar hotels, very small spread, what tasted like day old bread and unhelpful and irritable staff, for whom it was a huge imposition to be asked to refill the milk. I would not include breakfast in my stay, rather head toward the city and pop into one of the many lovely local cafe's - that's what we did after the second day. And it was far tastier and more comfortable.
This is a fine hotel, in a location close to town with (generally) friendly staff. If any of the things mentioned above would be a deal breaker - look elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you want wifi access, request a room close to the lifts - those further away cannot access the ne...

Dear guest
We are very pleased to hear about your good first impression and satisfaction with the provided services.
Our IT specialist tested the WiFi connection also in the farther rooms with a very positive result. However we are very sorry for the inconvenience you had to experience during your stay.
Let me asure you that we are very intensively fighting again the cabaret phenomenon in the street Ve Smeckach. Security of our valued guests is our highest priority!
We are very surprised to hear about your impression of our buffet breakfast. We are very proud on the diversity and selection on the buffet. We offer 12 different sorts of bread (f.e. wholemeal, onion, garlic or with nuts or herbs), 2 sorts in bio-quality (spelt and rye bread), imported daily in the early morning hours. Our guest further choose from variety of fruits, pasteries, cold and hot buffet. We serve black, fruit, herbal tea, filter and decaffeineted coffee, espresso, fruit and vegetable juice and also bohemian sparkling wine.
We will train our colleagues, who are serving coffee to be more attentive by refilling the milk mugs. Thank you for your comments!
